Essay on Discussion of the Existence of God
Discussion of the Existence of God
There is a lot of argument about does God exist or not exist. It was long time every person wanted to
prove the existence of God. Some people argued that God exist and proved by many philosophical
theories or scientific basics and religion reasons. On the other hand, other people do not believe in
God existence and they have based their proven by many theories and scientific points.
Many people have tried to prove God s existence with rational argument. Like Aquinas, Abelard,
Pascal, Anselm and Paley are a few that have attempted this. These approaches are of limited
helpfulness, for though we can approach God with our reason and detect him in nature. More ... Show

These confirmation might be summarized under two heads: firstly the confirmation from the
expansion of the universe and the secondly the confirmation from thermodynamic properties of the
universe.
The first confirmation is about the theory of the Big Bang (Big Bloom) is that once, all the matter in
the universe was concentrated into an incredibly dense mass. It was said too much smaller than the
eye of a needle for some unknown reason, 15000 million years ago it began expanding. The Big Bang
theory is the Dominant scientific theory about the origin of the universe, According to the Big Bang;
the universe was created some time between 15 20 billion years ago.
The second confirmation of the beginning of the universe is based on the thermodynamic properties of
various cosmological models. According to the second laws of thermodynamic, process talking place
in a closed system always tend toward s a state of equilibrium. The universe will reach a state of
thermodynamic equilibrium, known as the heat death of the universe. The universe will expand
forever or eventually re contract.
Many people have come to the point in their lives where they have serious doubt about God, or have
already denied his existence. Most of those people do not do so because firmly held

President Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal
When President Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected in 1932, he took office in one of the worst
economic crises in American history. The preceding three years were three years of significant
hardship that took a toll on the nation s morale. He won the presidency in a landslide vote over the
fairly conservative incumbent Herbert Hoover showing the American people were desperate for
changes that could restore the nation to economic prosperity seen in the 1920 s. Once he was
inaugurated, he quickly jumped into action. In the first couple of years of his presidency he passed
legislation that created a few dozen government programs trying to fix anything from unemployment
to fraud in the stock market. Most of these programs were successful. By the 1940 s, most of the
public s confidence had been restored as well, exemplifying the extent of the success of the New Deal.
Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal was successful because it created programs that restored the public
s morale and that brought relief to many Americans. As of a result of the government programs
created by the New Deal, restoring American morale was a success. The Tennessee Valley was hit
very hard by the economic downturn. Since the soil was poor, farmers has poor crop yields. The main
source of income for the region was crops. Perhaps one of the most ambitious programs that was a
part of the New Deal, the Tennessee Valley Authority, or the TVA, helped fix these problems therefore
restoring morale in a very

A Comparison of Blake, Wordsworth and Keats
A Comparison of Blake, Wordsworth and Keats
William Blake, John Keats and William Wordsworth all believe in the depth of the world and the
possibilities of the human heart. However, each poet looks towards different periods in time to capture
meaning in life. Blake looks towards the future for his inspiration, Keats towards the present and
Wordsworth towards the past. Regardless of where each poet looks for their inspiration they are all
looking for the same thing; timeless innocence. Each poet sought to transcend time by creating works
that dealt with life, death, hope and imagination and to discover some kind of deep truth or meaning in
existence. Life and death is an issue that we will all have to deal with at some point in our life ... Show

Technological advancement and social progress were steps backwards for Wordsworth and thus he
looked to the past for his inspiration.
John Keats did not have the luxury time that Wordsworth had to look to the past and reminisce about
things that were because he knew he did not have long to live. Even from a young age Keats felt his
life would be a short one and he so he applied himself to his art with a desperate urgency . Keats died
at twenty six years old and managed to leave behind some of the greatest poetry ever written. He didn
t bother to look toward the future because he knew that he wouldn t live to see it and he didn t look to
the past because he decided that it was more important to live in the moment.
Keats was very aware of his own mortality and his poetry reflected the intensity and the passion of a
man who didn t have very long to live. His poetry remains some of the densest prose ever penned
because, like his brief existence, he had to condense so much life into so little space. The thought of
impending death would be enough to make anyone fall into hopeless despair but Keats s incredible
talents and commitment to live in the moment perhaps allowed him to three lifetimes. The Chimney
Sweeper is a quintessential Blake poem as it embodies his belief in looking towards the future for
hope and comfort. Additionally, the poem is a perfect example of a child s movement from innocence

Passivity In The House On Mango Street
In the House on Mango Street, friends create drama and become strangers through unrelenting insults
and broken promises that brings Esperanza into sadness. As Rachel and Lucy gaze into the clouds,
Rachel describes a cloud as Esperanza s fat face, that s who. Looks like Esperanza s ugly face when
she comes to school in the morning (36 37). In this quote, the author is trying to say that some friends
are wolves in sheep s clothing. Rachel and Lucy were best friends with Esperanza since she helped
pay for the bike, but the friendship deteriorated once Rachel insulted Esperanza. As an older sister,
Lucy should stop Rachel from dismantling a friendship and apologize, but since she stays passive and
walks away, Esperanza loses two friends. The passivity

Aging And The World Health Organization
INTRODUCTION Ageing has been described as the inevitable slow progressive impairment of
normal biological function resulting from cellular and structural changes in an organism. These
cellular and structural changes directly impact on the functioning of organs, systems and eventually
the organism as a whole (Burton 2007). The correlation between the biological time clock for ageing
and the calendar/chronological age differs among individuals. However, the World Health
Organization accepts 65 years as the chronological age that defines an elderly person (World Health
Organization 2014). According to the United Nations report on population ageing, one of the most
distinguishing demographic occurrences of the twentieth century is the fact that the world s elderly
population is growing at a faster rate than the rest of the population and is expected to continue
through the twenty first century. Over the last 50 years, the number of elderly persons is believed to
have tripled and a greater increase is expected over the next 50 years (Department of Economic and
Social Affairs United Nations 2002, pp. 1 34). New Zealand has not been left out of this trend with an
increasing proportion of elderly people and a decreasing proportion of children. The proportion of
New Zealanders aged 65 years and over has increased from 11 percent in 1991 to 13 percent in 2009
and is expected to be up to 21 percent by 2031 (Ministry of Social Development 2014a). In view of

Analysis Of Suicide In The Trenches
Suicide in the Trenches
War, a slaughter of men that has gone on for hundreds thousands of years. One of the most gruesome
wars was WW1 which lasted for 4 years, 28 Jul. 1914 11 Nov. 1918. In this devastating war, the total
number of casualties includes about 11 million military personnel and about 7 million civilians. Many
of those soldiers were young men. The poem Suicide in the trenches written by Siegfried Sassoon tells
what the harsh trenches had being like and how many soldiers became depressed. Sassoon was an
officer who earned a military cross after carrying a wounded solider through enemy s crossfire. He
fought in many battles till 1917 where he would then have to leave the war due to Shellshock. Sassoon
criticized the political leaders who sent young men off to die in huge battles that seemed pointless and
while Sassoon was in Hospital he opposed the war by writing many poems including Does it Matter ,
The Hero and arguably the most tragic poem, Suicide in the Trenches .
SUICIDE IN THE TRENCHES
By Siegfried Sassoon
I knew a simple soldier boy
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.
In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
No one spoke of him again.
You smug faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you ll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

The Impact of Monsters in Literature and Films
Throughout generations, watching movies and reading novels have been some of the most popular
forms of entertainment. Horror is among the most famous genres of film and literature since it is
usually aimed at giving the audience a chilling or shocking experience. Monsters in such films and
novels have long been objects of both fascination and fear. From intergalactic aliens to medieval
dragons, the monster has always revealed people s fascination with mystical beings and what it means
to be human. The use of Monsters in films and literature captures the imagination and embodies the
fears and concerns of their audiences.
Every culture has its way of representing mysterious situations and channel their intense fears and
nightmares caused by such situations through the figure of a monster. The creation of monsters in
horror films and literature varies on the writer s perception of monsters and what various cultures find
horrible and frighten. According to Bruce F. Kawin, author of Composite Monsters: Island of Lost
Souls and The Fly, monsters in horror films provide individuals the opportunity to explore all forms of
life from natural to unnatural. For instance, Kawin s defines a monster to an imaginary creature made
up of the parts of two or more animals, one of which might be a human (Kawin 99) Kawin braces
monster s definition by comparing the following

Designing A New Registration System
For this paper, my hypothetical group will be employees from my organizations that are coming
together to either develop or purchase a new registration system that is user friendly. This registration
is much needed and will also make the jobs of employees easier. The group will need to research three
different companies and make a decision on one of them. This system will need to be user friendly,
allowing for online registrations for students, and be able to track revenue and expenses. This group
will be made up 7 people of the Assistant Director of the Division, Administrative Assistants from 3
different areas, a Program Manager, Operations Manager, and a facilitator from an outside division.

The operations manager was selected to also provide input on what reports would be helpful and also
give input on how room scheduling will be beneficial. I will be acting as an external facilitator.
Although I am not external to the college, I am external to the division. I thought this was important
because I will still have an understanding of what this division is its background and the college but I
won t be an added cost. For this group I will select a participative style of leadership. Participative
leadership is a managerial style that invites input from employees on all company decisions. The staff
is given pertinent information regarding company issues, and a majority vote determines the course of
action the company will take. Participative leadership can sometimes be a slower form of decision
making, but it has several advantages that may make it the right managerial method for your business.
(George N. Root III) I have selected this leadership style since I will have no decision making power. I
will begin this facilitation process by focusing on the following things; Environment, Logistics and
Room Arrangements and establishing ground Rules. Having a safe and comfortable environment is
important for the members of the group. This will help the group members want to interact with each
other and want to participate in the group. I will make sure that the locations are in known places. I

The Influence Of Impressionism
Impressionist art, in its spectacular focus on atmosphere and the elusively delicate movement of light
and air, such as Monet s ethereal Vetheuil in the Fog (1879), was innovative, going against everything
taught as traditional and proper by the Salon authority. We see artists such as Manet defying artistic
traditions with racy confrontation in Le déjeuner sur l herbe (1863), and impressions of modern
middle class life, rather than historical figures, as we see in Cassett s At the Opera (1880).
Impressionists captured instants in time in the lives of the middle class people, rather than the classical
focus on divine scenes or images of the elite. The ground breaking beliefs and styles of the
Impressionists, along with their persistence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it, even if it is in the form of rebellion. I believe that together, all modern art movements, of which
there are even more than I have discussed here; treat us to a fabulous panorama of life and the extent
of human feeling. The depths of our darkest thoughts are plumbed in one painting, while the next
causes our heart to soar with the joy of feeling alive. Perhaps the famous Dada artist Arp summarized
art best, even from his own movement that tried to go against art itself, in that the work of art is
unfinished without us (TheArtStory.org, n.d.). Impressionist or otherwise, we become part of the final
work of art and complete

Traditional Gender Roles
Gender roles are the roles that men and women are expected to occupy based on their sex.
Traditionally, many believed that women are more nurturing than men. Therefore, the traditional view
of the feminine gender role prescribes that women should behave in ways that are nurturing. One way
that a woman might engage in the traditional feminine gender role would be to nurture her family by
working full time within the home rather than employment. Men, on the other hand, are presumed by
traditional views of gender roles to be leaders. The traditional view of the masculine gender role,
therefore, suggests that men should be the heads of their households by providing financial support for
the family and making important family decisions. While these views remain dominant throughout
society, perspectives on traditional beliefs about gender roles have improved throughout the twenty
first century. Gender roles are sometimes created on the basis of stereotypes about gender. Gender
stereotypes are oversimplified understandings of males and females and the ... Show more content on

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines dementia as: word for a group of
symptoms caused by disorders that affect the brain. It is not a specific disease. People with dementia
may not be able to think well enough to do normal activities, such as getting dressed or eating. They
may lose their ability to solve problems or control their emotions. Their personalities may change.
They may become agitated or see things that are not there. (Health, 2014).This essay is going to
discuss and explore what dementia is and the four main types of dementia which includes Alzheimer s
Disease, Vascular Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia and Lewy Body Dementia. Then it explores
the physiology changes in different types and the signs and symptoms of dementia. This effect can
change the life of people having dementia to suffer in physical issues, social isolation and mental
illness. Next, it discusses how environmental changes and music therapy strategies work in dementia.
Lastly, the supports that Alzheimer s Australia and Emmy Monash Aged Care can provide. (Bleiler
2011). Dementia cannot be classified as one specific disease as it is associated with many different
types of diseases. Several different forms of dementia exist, with four of the most common including
Alzheimer s disease, Vascular Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia and Lewy Body Dementia.

Rialto Police Department performed most of its duties in the greater San Bernardino County area. At
the time of implementation, San Bernardino County faced bankruptcy, which created challenges for
the department. Being the first police department to implement body cameras department wide was its
own challenge within itself at a time when crime was at an all time high.
Despite the numerous challenges Rialto Police Department faced, the department was able to improve
transparency measures between officers and citizens. The department was able to efficiently manage
funding issues by using state and federal dollars to fund their project. The Rialto Police Department s
story is important to tell because the department was able to attack issues of efficiency, transparency,
and funding in a crime ridden city. The Rialto Police Department implementation highlights the

challenges and successes of implementing body cameras.
Background
Rialto Police Department was recognized as the first department to implement body cameras
department wide. Previously, no research had been conducted on implementing body cameras. The
Department has received 2014 AICP/ Motorola Solutions Webber Seavey Award for Excellence in

This company, a retail clothing store with three suburban locations in Atlanta, Georgia, is
incorporated, with each of the three Boudoir sisters owning one third of the outstanding stock. The
company is profitable, but rapid growth has put it under severe financial strain. The real estate is all
under mortgage to an insurance company, the inventory is being used under a blanket chattel mortgage
to secure a bank line of credit, and the accounts receivable are all being factored. With total assets of

watermelon rinds, relishes, and peppers). The company s stock is widely held, actively traded, and
listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Recently, it has been trading in the range of $18 to $22 a
share. The latest 12 months earnings were $1.70 per share. The current dividend rate is 64 cents a
share, and earnings, dividends, and the price of the company s stock have been growing at a rate of
about 7 percent over the last few years. Piper Pickle s debt ratio is currently 42 percent versus 25
percent for other large pickle packers. Other firms in the industry, on the average, have been growing
at a rate of about 5 percent a year, and their stocks have been selling at a price/earnings ratio of about

substantial cost savings and reduce the risk involved in having to compete for cucumbers in the open
market. This vertical integration would require $20 million in cash for the necessary farms and

people, I just really enjoy spending time with myself. I know a lot of people, but I only have two or

rather go out and do something with one or two friends, rather than a large group. I enjoy having the

friendships that come and go.
I take a lot of pride in the work that I do. It doesn t matter what I m doing, it could be playing video

Eyewitness Identification
Eyewitness Identification may be more reliable than we believe, if they are handled and assessed
correctly. Eyewitness testimonies are often used by law enforcement officers to identify suspects and
play a huge role in getting convictions. If witnesses identify the wrong person, an innocent man could
be punished for something they had no involvement in. There are many theories to explain why
witnesses may identify the wrong person as the perpetrator of a crime. The different ways we retrieve
memories affects what we remember. Other theories have to deal with how lineups or photo arrays are
displayed to the witness and the effect they have on the result. All of the different theories of how our
memories can be influenced, cause people to argue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many different ways our memory might fail us. Encoding failure occurs when our brain fails
to realize all the information around us and can only store what we are most focused on at the time.
This causes people to lose information that could have beneficial because they didn t focus on one
single thing. This problem only gets worse with age. Storage decay can also affect the reliability of
our memories. Even if the information does get encoded into memory, there is still a chance it could
be forgotten over time. There is a forgetting curve that shows how quickly people can forget events.
Another way our memories may be clouded could be by the misinformation effect. The
misinformation effect can change the way people remember things. If people hear someone tell a story
about an event that happened, they could take that information and believe it s their own information
they experienced first hand. These memory failures cause for controversy over whether or not
eyewitness testimony should be used in court. These issues are enough to cause reasonable doubt
when trying to convict a person off of an eyewitness account. I do believe their are ways for law
enforcement agencies to avoid these issues to strengthen the reliability of their eyewitnesses

World War I Was Not Inevitable
World War I was not inevitable, as many historians say. It could have been avoided, and it was a
diplomatically botched negotiation, once said Richard Holbrooke, an American diplomat. Many
people worldwide agree with Mr. Holbrooke, believing WWI to be a waste of human lives. Known for
its ridiculous start, fueled by the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, and its huge impact on
numerous countries earned it the title of the Great War. Though many people considered it pointless
and as a war with many negative repercussions, WWI did lead to some positive outcomes, such as its
art. Not only were new movements created, but also new styles of existing forms of art resulted from
the war. Because of the different ways that art developed both on and off of the battlefield during the
Great War, WWI is one of the most influential wars on the development of art in the twentieth century.
Art in World War I was observed in many forms, from photography to art movements on the home
fronts of many countries. What many people did not realize is that art was also used in the war for
battle. Propaganda and camouflage were crucial to the success on the battlefield and they were used
and produced in ways not normally seen in history before. Propaganda had existed before WWI but
was used heavily in this war and was often negatively themed, to promote involvement in a war
against the evil enemy. Complex camouflage of machinery, ships, and uniforms also arose during the

of international trade, political economy, education and sociolinguistics.
However, with the rapid development of other languages, such as Chinese, Spanish, French and

disadvantages. Hence, some linguists argue that English may not be an appropriate and rational

First, there exists a risk that increased adoption of English as a lingua franca may lead to the
weakening and disappearance of other popular languages. From researches, it is estimated that up to
80 percent of the world s living languages may die out within the next century, and some linguists
believe that a dominant lingua franca may be a major contributing factor in this trend. However, it
seems likely that this is really a direct threat in areas where English as lingua franca is also their
natural first language, such as North America, Australia, Canada and England. Conversely, there is
also some evidence that the very threat of subjugation by a dominant lingua franca can actually

Emotions In The Novel The Mark Of The Dragonfly
In the novel The Mark of the Dragonfly, the main character Piper had many different emotions
throughout the book. Sometimes Piper has more positive and joyful emotions, while on the other hand
she might have negative and not so jolly emotions. Piper s emotions change over the course of the
novel and are different from the beginning of the novel towards the ending of the novel. In page 24 in
the book it states, A cold knot of dread settled in Piper s stomach. Isn t he with you? That sentence
would show Piper feeling fear or dread , when she realized that Micah was missing. This is giving me
the idea that the emotion that Piper is feeling, is going to change the way the author writes the book,
like when the author used a cold knot of dread. That would show, since Piper is feeling fear, the author
includes more descriptive language that in other parts of the novel. Another emotion change Piper had
earlier in the book was in page 112, Piper s stomach clenched when she heard those words. That
would show Piper feeling uneasy, or scared which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author probably included this to show that Piper is not always scared, but can start standing up for
herself. The author might have also included this in order to have Piper be more brave throughout the
rest of the book, which would eventually help her win her battle against Doloman. Another emotion
change was in page 207 when it said, Let it go. Piper advised, pulling Anna toward another chair. This
would support the last emotion of standing up and not letting others bring you down, which could
possibly lead up to a theme. Both of these emotions were mostly about being brave and confident,
which is an extreme emotion change from the beginning of the novel; having fear, to standing up from

Industrial Hemp Should be Legal Essay
Just the mention of the word Cannabis in today s society brings about all types of negative
connotations. This is understandable due to the major propaganda campaign that has been waged by
the U.S. government on the plant. Most citizens have no idea what a mature Cannabis plant looks like,
and close to none recognize the thousands of uses it has. This is paper will not discuss whether drug
type Cannabis should be legalized for recreational or medicinal purposes, what it will discuss is the
many environmentally friendly products that can be made from non psychoactive hemp. The

One major issue with Industrial Hemp is its use for BioMass fuel. Believe it or not, but the energy that
Cannabis stores during its growth can be converted into fuel after harvest. Many plants can be used to
make BioMass fuel, yet Cannabis is the top candidate for its supply due to it s abundance of cellulose
and ease of harvesting it. BioMass fuel can be used for absolutely any form of energy, be it fuel to
power an engine (car) or to generate electricity. BioMass fuel burns cleaner than petrochemical fuels.
Paper made from hemp is superior to wood pulp paper in every facet. First, and most importantly,
Cannabis is grown in a field and is planted and harvested in the same year. Forests that are cut down

process that has many toxic byproducts. Cannabis paper requires no bleaching due to its naturally
creamy color. Hemp paper is stronger, lasts longer, and holds ink better than wood pulp paper. Hemp

The Laramie Project is a production that was created to addressed the cruel murder of 21 year old
Matthew Shepard who lived in a small town of Laramie, Wyoming. Due to this critical situation that
occurred, the state of Wyoming suffered from major judgements from other states in the U.S and
countries around the world. Laramie, had demonstrated stereotypical actions and discrimination
towards the gay community, due to the people who had killed Matthew being homophobic. When the

The Necklace, A Monkey s Paw, And The Gift Of Magi
The Necklace, A Monkey s Paw, and The Gift of Magi all have a distinctive technique that leads to a
deeper meaning of the story. The technique of The Necklace is represented by symbolism of the
necklace. In A Monkey s Paw, the technique that is seen is foreshadowing. In The Gift of Magi, irony
is the technique that is noticed throughout the story. All three short stories deal with the irony of
consequence. Each story involved a major decision and in each case the result of the decision was
incredibly unexpected. Through symbolism, foreshadowing, and irony the authors conclude that what

importantly, cost Mathilde her pride. In The Gift of Magi, Della and Jim sacrifice their prized
possessions for each other and for love. Irony is represented in this story when Della and Jim both get
each other gifts that mean a lot to each other. However, what they did not realize is that when Della
cut her hair to to buy Jim a chain for his watch, she was unaware that Jim was going to sell his watch
to buy her combs for her hair. The irony of their gift exchange is monumental as their unconditional
love for one another took over for their own personal possession. Jim exclaims, I don t think there s
anything in the way of a haircut or a shave or a shampoo that could make me like my girl any less. But
if you ll unwrap that package you may see why you had me going a while at first. The magi which are
described as wise men also signifies irony because Della and Jim s presents were more than wise.
They represented that a gift does not need to be expensive to have value. A gift can be more
meaningful just by the thought. The Monkey s Paw, deals with a family s unwillingness to accept
things as they should be. They desired more and paid the dire

The Penitent Magdalene Analysis
Artemisia Gentileschi is unarguably a key player in the acceptance of women artists in a previously
male dominated field. She was the first female member of the Academia del Disegno also known as
the Academy of Design. This was a high honor for a woman of her day. Overcoming many hardships
in her relationships, and even drawing inspiration from them, she became known for the excellence
and the unique way she portrayed popular subjects in her artwork. Contemporary art critics have taken
notice of her genius and talent in paving roads in an exclusively male field, and for the feminist
perspective she had that was ahead of her time. Artemisia was born on July 8, 1593 to Orazio
Gentileschi and Prudentia Montone. (Bio.com) Prudentia died when Artemisia ... Show more content

Here in Florence she encountered the Tuscan style of painting and completed her work The Penitent
Magdalene in 1620. Her subject, Mary Magdalene, who is portrayed in this painting as a wealthy
woman of Artemisia s time, is a character from the New Testament of the Bible. There is not many
details of her life that are known, but what we do know is that she was a prostitute, who changed her
ways when she met Jesus. This painting is called The Penitent Magdalene, but it could instead be
called The Conversion of Magdalene, because this painting seems to capture the moment she decided
to change her life around. While she was in Florence, Artemisia had many wealthy families
commission her to create artwork for them, and many think that the Medici family commissioned her
for this particular painting. (Koen, Lisa) It is obvious by Magdalene s expensive dress and exposed
shoulders that she is a fallen woman . Her posture also shows her penitence, and the jar of ointment in
the bottom right hand corner is a signature attribute of Magdalene. Artemisia s skill with her medium
is apparent is the rich texture of Magdalen s garment, and in the contrast between her and the
background. There are a few theories as to why Artemisia would choose to depict Mary Magdalene.
Mary Garrard in her book Artemisia Gentileschi Around 1622: The Shaping and Reshaping of an
Artist s Identity (2001) has proposed the following about how Artemisia might have connected with
this particular biblical character:
Both Artemisia and Mary Magdalene were stigmatized as sexually promiscuous in both cases on
trumped up evidence and both had reputations as sinful women ...One can imagine that she might have
identified both with her troubled character s desire to escape the confinement of luxury she found
restrictive, and stifling, and, perhaps, with the Magdalene s yearning to move onto a higher spiritual
plane. (Garrard, Mary

Research Paper On Chinese Cuisine
China cuisine
Chinese cuisine has various styles, depending on the region of China, and some of the characteristic
meals became very popular in other parts of the world from Asia to America, Australia, Western

known as healthy, and the Chinese are known for their long life and health. Vegetables and meat have
a very important place in this cuisine, and the main feature is their short heat treatment. They are
always fried briefly and left almost half raw and that s the most important thing about it. When

parts of food that are cut into bite size and are ready to be eaten immediately. In traditional Chinese
culture sticks are used and it is in a way based on the opposites. For example, the hot food is always
served with some cold dish, and spicy dishes always come with something to soften the taste. The
flavors are achieved by using numerous spices like vinegar, pepper, hot peppers, or sugar, and a great

How Prawer Jhabvala Highlights the Culture Clash Between India and England in the Young Couple
Prawer Jhabvala highlights the culture clash in several ways. Firstly, by using themes. Secondly,
through the uses of images and languages. Finally, through the uses of characterisation of Naraian,

Firstly, Prawer Jhabvala uses the main theme, clash of culture to show the culture clash between
England and India. The first culture clash was shown on the reaction Naraian s friend to Cathy.

Naraian s family does everything for Cathy. His family gets involved very much between the couple.
Secondly, Prawer Jhabvala also highlights the culture clash through using images and languages. One
of the images I found is that the reasons why Cathy doesn t work. She has experiences on receptionist
to a Harley Streetspecialist, a sales assistant in an airlines office and a waitress in a coffee bar.
However, she knew it was impossible to get a job like that in India. Because of her, or rather the
family s, background and social standing. The sort of jobs this background and social standing
permitted her she was not qualified to do. Therefore, the main way of getting a job in India is
nepotism. On the other hands, in England, individuals find works independently of family. And other
images I found is that the attitude of family to Cathy s shopping trip. The mother said to Cathy, One

Bud Light Marketing Strategy
The Bud Light brand is second to none when it comes to light beer and a good time. Although, first
considered a flop in the United States after its introduction in 1982, Bud Light surged up the charts
after a rebranding effort in 1986. The Gimme a Light campaign by the D Arcy McManus Mansius
agency altered the brands path forever. Since then, Bud Light has drastically increased its market share
while still maintaining its success in the global light beer and beverage market.
Using clever and borderline juvenile material Bud Light has seen much success in their targeted
consumers in American males of the ages 18 49. With great success we believe Bud Light has the
potential to increase its reach and share by advancing marketing opportunities to females and
exploiting their other product lines. In doing so Bud Light must take a different approach from its
perceived masculinity to an all around and more suitable approach to our female audience.
We recommend that Bud Light stays within its usual approach to target its younger male audience, but
offer women something different when it comes to their product such as their flavored Bud Light
Ritas, Bud Light Lime, and Bud Light Chelada. The goals are to increase market share, profits and
awareness of new products.

to accompany both men and women during the hot summer months. The budget is about $20 Million

Figurative Language In Jeremy
Award winning book Jeremy; is a delightfully enchanting story about the survival of a baby
kookaburra, whom is cared for after falling from his nest. Evidence of precise vocabulary is used in
describing a nest high in the big palm tree in our garden (Faille, 2014 pg. 1), creating depth and
believability in the existence of the setting (Tunnel, 2008). Using figurative language, Jeremy is given
human like actions through personification, whom stays up late to watch television (Faille, 2014), a
feat unusual for a wild bird. Furthermore personification is again addressed; through an emotional act
of a simple goodbye kiss between Jeremy and the human girl (Faille, 2014), outlining the care two
characters now share with each other (Tunnell, 2008).

The Oldowan And The Acheulean
There are manifold stone tool industries, however there are two especially prevalent technocomplexes;
the Oldowan and the Acheulean. Although perhaps not the most intricate instances of implement
development, they are the oldest and describe their creators lifestyles; information that would
otherwise be all but lost. The gradual evolution of these tools over millions of years portray a clear
change in the users acclimatisation to new and varied environments, as well as their cultural
adaptations. This essay will aim to analyse, through comparison, the varying behavioural adaptations
of early Homonins, taking into account the factors of diet, ranging patterns, and the development of
social behaviour.
Oldowan technology was first discovered at the Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania, site in the 1930s by Lewis
and Mary Leakey. It has been dated to approximately 2.5 to 1.5 million years ago during the late
Pliocene and early Pleistocene (Potts 1981:153), predating any other form of currently known lithic
industries. Acheulean technology is more recent, dated to between 1.7 to 1.5 million years ago using
radiometric dating from volcanic ash (White 1998:15). It was named after Saint Acheule, Somme,
France, where Jacques Boucher de Crèvecœur de Perthes discovered the site in 1859, although John
Frere has been credited to its 1797 discovery. In terms of appearance, Oldowan tools can essentially

Theme Of Dreams In Troilus And Criseyde
Chaucer also demonstrates that dreams are layered with meaning and may serve as a tool for an
intertextual analysis of literature and poetry when amalgamated into poems themselves. It encourages
metareflection and the use of dream visions within Chaucer s work alternates between a formulaic
device or a significant and divine vision into the future. It becomes apparent that the dream is an
effective and fundamental device for writing narratives that question reality, faith, and agency. The
dreams in Troilus and Criseyde take various forms, altering shape under careful observation.
Criseyde s dream is seemingly a prophetic somnium, which predict future events or divulge hidden
truths of the past. In addition, it can also be strongly argued that this dream is fabricated from the
subconscious of Criseyde as she is already starting to love Troilus, however, is not wholly ready to
acknowledge this, even to herself. These two interpretations add further evidence of ambiguity in
Chaucer s work as it remains uncertain which one was intended by the author. Perhaps Chaucer too
was questioning the established attitudes of his contemporary society in such a way that can be seen to
predict future theories of human understanding and dream interpretations.
Boccaccio s indifferent mentions of the heart is referenced to internal thoughts or in relation to the
affliction of love sickness. However, there are three instances where Troilo refers to Criseida as heart
of my body, and two where Criseida returns this expression. The wording implies the exchange of
hearts, a motif only included in Troilo s dream of Criseida and the boar. (VII. 24) Boccaccio s desire
may have been for his Italian readers to grasp the literal implication of how the beast s attack on the
woman s heart will hurt the hero s heart because her heart is also his vice versa. Chaucer explores this
motif in Criseyde s dream of the white eagle, which according to Medieval allegory and moral,
received both favourable and unfavourable interpretations.
Chaucer depicts a characteristically fierce bird of prey who viciously devours flesh with severe
ferocity: the longe clawes that rente her breast initially threatens Criseyde with physical harm. (II. 925

Change Of Identity In I Am Not Esther By Fleur Beale
The novel, I am not Esther, written by Fleur Beale follows Kirby Greenland, a fourteen year old girl,
who is suddenly abandoned by her mother. Kirby is then forced to live with family members she has
never met before in an unfamiliar, religious community with strict rules and regulations. During her
time in the community, also considered as a cult , Kirby faced the challenges of identity change and
loss as well as abandonment and isolation. This helped me develop a deep understanding of Kirby and
how she undergoes a large character development throughout the text. Firstly, I gained an
understanding of Kirby and her character development through how she dealt with her loss and change
of identity. When Kirby first entered the community, she is stripped of her belongings and even her
name they give her a new biblical name of Esther . This made Kirby feel outraged and like her identity
had just been attacked. Kirby faces this challenge by reproaching the change instantly. I know this
because she says I m Kirby, not Esther for God s sake. This showed me that Kirby is sure of her
identity and would disobey the community to act in a way which is true to herself. However, after
spending so much time with unfamiliar people and in an unfamiliar environment, Kirby questions
whether she is Kirby or Esther, seeing her two self consciousness as two separate beings. Kirby is
asked by Mrs Fletcher, the guidance counsellor whom she enlisted help from, what she wished to be

in the international long haul markets while retaining the individual brands and current positions of
each airline. British Airways and Iberia hope their new company International Airlines Group,
International Airlines Group, will position the pair for further consolidation in the global airline sector
as it emerges from a prolonged industry downturn and hope to compete with multinational rivals Air
France KLM and Lufthansa.
From a personal analysis it seems that the merger is likely to be more strategic for both companies as
Iberia is more dominant in South American destinations and British Airways flies to only three South
American destinations. The key benefit of the merger to BA would be the access to South America.
Similarly, Iberia will gain from BA s more extensive North American operations, with the two carriers
able to share information on fares, schedules and routes. They have identified Latin America as a
growth market, one where BA is under represented.
Willie Walsh has drawn a list of 12 possible airlines BA could merge with once the America airlines
and Iberia tie ups are completed. The choice of merging is positive in a sense that it will increase the

market share and BA has promised cheaper fares and even more jobs as part of a route sharing deal

Clean Green Fuels Case Study
Fraudulent
In 2009, Rodney Rashawn Hailey, the owner of Clean Green Fuels, embarked on a journey defraud
the EPA. Hailey started by registering his business with the Environmental protection Agency EPA as
a renewable energy producer under the EPA s 2005 Renewable Fuel Standard Program (RFSP), which
was established in the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA). RFSP requires oil refiners to
produce a certain quantity of renewable fuel or purchase credit equivalent to the quaintly as a mean to
compensate for their production of petroleum based fuel. These credits were given in the form of
Renewable Identification Numbers (RIN). Every certified batch of clean fuel produced in the United
States generates a unique RIN which could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The officers visit the corporate headquarter without warning Hailey. During their visit, they
questioned Hailey about the CGF s operation process. Oddly Hailey couldn t provide the agents with a
specific location where the fuel was being produced. He also made some inconsistent and self
incriminating statements and even noted that his business was temporally out of commission.
Eventually they obtained an address where some of the biofuel production was occurring but when
they arrived at the site all they found was a couple of empty containers.
In May 2011 Judge Beth P issued several warrants and seizures warrants for Hailey s home, office,
bank account and other valuable items in possession because of RIN sales. Internal Revenue Service
(IRS) special agent Catherine Chow lead the warrant execution team. Local police called Hailey and
informed him that a suspicious person had been sighted on his property and if the department could
search for the suspect. When Hailey came to open the gate, federal agents bombarded the vicinity.
Hailey was eventually sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for selling false RIN and pocketing $9.1
million in fraudulent renewable energy credits. His assets were confiscated, and he was required to
pay $42.2 million in restitution. Hailey was charged with wire fraud, engaging in an illegal monetary
transaction, and violating the Clean Air Act (CAA). Other key players that contributed to the
conviction

Aloha Livina Research Paper
Aloha ʻĀina While exploring different readings and watching numerous films about the meaning of
Aloha ʻĀina, I have learned that the simple meaning translates into love of the land . However, Aloha
ʻĀina also has a more complex meaning that embraces a deep connection to the people, the land, the
culture, a way of life, and a way of viewing life. My goal in this paper is to define the true meaning of
Aloha ʻĀina, talk about the Aloha ʻĀina movement, and help others understand why this term is so
important to Hawaii. Hawaii has faced and overcome many issues over the years, one of these issues
that is still around today is about land and water. Beginning in 1848, the Great Māhele and the
Kuleana Act left many Hawaiians without land. In 1920, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They relied on the planets and stars that showed them the way to the Hawaiian Islands that we call
home today. But today, many people are opposed to the construction of the TMT because the
construction of this telescope is desecrating the sacred places and burial sites that spread all over the
mountain (Biggs). Activists have been objecting to the construction of the TMT ever since day one.
These activists are all part of the Aloha ʻĀina movement and they have successfully interrupted the
plans for construction. Governor David Ige has also tried to make a compromise by proposing that a
few of the existing telescopes be decommissioned to make way for the TMT (Leong), but the protest
movement is not interested in any compromise. One of the leaders of the movement has said that the
group will not rest until their mountain is safe from

The development of digital integrated circuits is...
The development of digital integrated circuits is challenged by higher power consumption. The
combination of higher clock speed, greater functional integration and smaller process geometries has
marked their contribution to significant growth in power density. Scaling improvises the transistor in
65nm and below density and functionality on a chip. It helps to increase speed and frequency
operation, hence giving a higher performance. As voltage scales downward with geometries, threshold
voltages must also decrease to gain the performance advantages of the new technology but leakage
technology increases exponentially. Thinner gate oxides have led to an increase in gate leakage
current. Today, leakage power has become an increasingly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Also, the dynamic range is degraded by these strict limitations. Upwards, the dynamic range is
lowered due to the reduced signal headroom as a result of reduced supply voltage. Downwards, the
dynamic range is limited by larger noise voltages due to curtailed supply currents. The only way to
make the operational amplifier survive the trend towards lower supply voltages without weakening its
characteristics, is by developing very efficient operational amplifier topologies that combine low
voltage and low power operation and be as simple as possible to save die area, in its contemporary
sense. In this thesis, we design and analyses different design approach of operational amplifier circuits
using power gating technique and MTCMOS leakage reduction techniques. Both these techniques are
very effective for reducing leakage power and group delay, increasing gain margin in electronic
devices. Here, power gating technique is used to reduce leakage power, group delay and increase gain
and phase margin.
We reduce the leakage current in stand mode and ground bounce noise in sleep to active mode
transition. In MTCMOS technique, high VTH devices are used on non critical paths to reduce static
leakage power without incurring delay penalty. If we reduce the leakage current and delay, ground
bounce noise of circuit will increase circuit reliability. On the other hand, when a power gating
technique works in standby mode, the switch transistor is turned OFF, which disconnects the logic

Compare And Contrast Southern And East Georgia Southern
The colleges I will be comparing and contrasting are East Georgia College and Georgia Southern. East
Georgia College is a four year state college of the University System of Georgia. Located in
Swainsboro,Ga. It s a public college with about 28 students per class. The demographics of the school
is mixed races. To get in the college you need to be have graduated high school, and taken the SAT or
Compass test with an good score. The college does not have on campus transportation like public
buses, so you would have to have your own transportation. The total cost for a 1 year tuition would be
$4,011. I would take up art and sociology for my academic programs. I wouldn t be far from home and
there are a lot of places to work. The sports they have

Japanese Culture And Cultural Culture
In today s modern world, we encounter a wide diversity of people from Americans to Japanese.
However, as we encounter such people, we ask ourselves, how much do we know about their culture
or even about their family roots. Personally, the encounters with many Americans have been
peacefully satisfying to point of acknowledging their culture and traditions. On the other hand, the
Japanese community is still a cloudy subject that needs a clear path of understanding. Therefore, as
more information integrates to our multicultural world, the Japanese community need to be valued,
unified, and appreciated by many other cultures, including ours. The Japanese culture has a fascinating
and multi faced culture, covering its cultural traditions to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated in the InsideJapan website (2017), many younger generations face the challenge that a job is
no longer guaranteed, as well as for employees working in a company for many years. The website
also argues that one and three million young adults have never left their home, resulting in a decrease
in the total tax money to support the Japanese economy and aging population (InsideJapan, 2017). In
other words, as the Japanese community continues to have less young adults working or even in a part
time status, a struggling dilemma to support the elderly population will become a challenge for the
economy and for the culture. On a different note, the Japanese culture has interesting traditions that
shape how the values, beliefs, and social practices are viewed by others. For example, the Japanese
culture has embraced several religions that one person can practice their entire life. The InsideJapan
website supports this information by stating, This is why they say that in Japan, people are born
Shinto, get married Christian, and die Buddhist (2017). Many religions coincide alongside other
religions to have a greater impact on their followers as it happens in the Japanese culture as in other
cultures. Consequently, their values, beliefs, and social practices can be both different and be same as
each other. Social practices and cultural traditions are also greatly valued by Japanese culture as part
