How to Login to Falcon Online

Tutorial about how Daytona State College students can log into their online classrooms.

1. HOW TO LOGIN
to Falcon Online

2. To access your course materials that are
available on Falcon Online, you need to
get to the course ‘shell’. The course shell
is the Course pagecreated for each class
and its content.
Every class, online, hybrid and even on
campus courses have a course shell
where instructors post grades, the
syllabus and other course content.

3. To begin, we’ll show you several
ways to login into Falcon Online
in Daytona State College.
Open a web browser
and type into the web address:
daytonastate.edu
(No need to type the “www’)

4. On the Daytona State College web site, select the
“STUDENT LIFE” link in the blue Navbar.

5. On the “STUDENT LIFE” page,
under “Student Resources”,
select the “Falcon Online” link
to bring you to the login page.

6. A third way to get to the Falcon
Online login page is to type into the
web browser address,
<class.daytonastate.edu>

7. The third and most most important way is through your own
College Portal page, “MYDAYTONASTATE ”. The Portal provides
many important resources, links, personal notices and other
information. Its also is the place to change your password.
From the front page of the Daytona State College website,
click on the top right text-link, “MYDAYTONASTATE ”.

8. First notice the MyDaytonaState
(intro) page has information to
help you access your user name,
password, login, account
informationand set up a secret
question for the College Login.

9. Login
To login to the portal page, clickon
the “LOGIN” button on the top upper
right of the browser window.

Enter your username.
“The 'Username' is the prefix
of your College email.
([email protected])
would be Jane_Smith344).”
Your email will continue to be called “Falconmail’.
But the word “falconmail” is being removed from
your College email account name.

LOGIN PAGE: PASSWORD
The Default Password is:
Dsc(Capital ‘D’, lowercase ‘s’, lowercase ‘c’)
+ Your birthdate (in MMDDYY format)
+ The last fivedigits of your social security number.
Example:
If your birthdate is January 1, 1990, and your social is
123-45-6789, your default password would be
Dsc01019056789

“Retrieve College ID and email Address” form.

13. This “Retrieve College ID and Email Address”
helps you to find your Username.
Input your last FOUR (4) digits of your SSN (social
security number).
Note the difference of using your last FIVE(5) Social
security numbers in your user name.
Then select “Your Birthday”by choosing from the
numerical drop downs; (select the month, date, and
year). Then select the Submitbutton.

14. When you select the SECOND LINK:
“Forgot Password or Think Your
Account is Locked?
it opens a new page full of information
and retrieval forms to assist you.

15. “Account Information”
This page includes:
SPECIFIC INFORMATION
with details for user
accounts created
-before March 05, 2015,
and those created
-after March 05, 2015.

16. This page also includes:
“General
Troubleshooting”
with browser help

17. On the top right of the page is the
“Retrieve College ID and
College FalconmailAddress”

18. Under that section is the
“Forgot Password or Think
Your Account is Locked?”
Followed bya
“Change Password” form

19. We STRONGLY encourage you
to change your password after
logging in the first time.
Select this “Change Password” link
from the side menu or use the
change password form.
Once you have successfully
logged into In the Portal

20. OTHER Information
When you login later,
take time to see everything on your
MyDaytonaState, including:
• Your Financial Aid
Award Status
• Your transcript
• Your grades
• FalconNetFalconMailemail
You can look up sections and
register for classes

21. On the bottom of the Login page are
three links, when selected open the
Daytona State Collegewebsite page,
the Privacystatement and FalconAID.
