S ynopsis is the structural plan of research project. Synopses are between- 3000 to 4000 words This shows the brief description of the paper plan work for the dissertation and gives reader as an idea towards the entire research process. It includes all major points . Also to get ethical clearance . Submission of synopsis of organizations to get funding for a research project.

Organizing the documents List out the interest and discuss with guide about the topic before writing synopsis. Check weather its match with following guidelines with FINERS criteria

Drafting synopsis section Use introduction to identify research problem Describe the problem , discuss its importance to Ayurvedic field. Write some the background of the problem into context and explain how to approach it. will cover first page or two pages of the synopsis

Describe the work done by other researchers in literature review Your literature review discusses advancements of other researchers have made in the field( 8-10 previous studies related to your research problems ) Distinguish your research project to show that you are contributing something new to your field. Generally it will be about the same length as your introduction.

Set the aim and objectives At least one overall objectives that describes the contribution your particular project will make to your field. Provide 2- 3 objectives that u hope to accomplish through your project. for specific objectives, verbs like quantify or compare should be used because you are hoping for better understanding of associations between particular variables.

Example   Aim : 1. To evaluate and compare the efficacy of lepa made of Karvira mool twak with Jati patra and shirisha twaka in the management of Dadru w.s.r to Dermatophytosis . 2. To compare the efficacy of trial drugs with the control drug. Objectives : 1 . To assess the efficacy of lepa made of Karvira mool twak with Jati patra in the management of Dadru w.s.r to Dermatophytosis . 2 . To assess the efficacy of lepa made of Shirisha twaka in the management of Dadru w.s.r to Dermatophytosis .

List your hypotheses This represent predictions of what you will find out as a result. This involves predicting a relationship between two d ifferent variables. Its of two types Null hypotheses Alternate hypotheses

EXAMPLE - Hypothesis : Null hypothesis: There is no difference between the effects of lepa made of Karvira mool twak with Jati patra and Shirisha twaka in the management of Dadru w.s.r to Dermatophytosis . Alternate hypothesis: There is significant difference between the effect of lepa made of Karvira mool twak with Jati patra and Shirisha twaka in the management of Dadru w.s.r to Dermatophytosis .

Discuss methodology and methods It is the core of your synopsis that lays out reader to understand how u are going to answer your questions Section of synopsis include how you plan to collect and analyze your data, overall design and your sampling methods.

Example Design of the study RANDOMIZED, SINGLE BLIND, EFFICACY STUDY, CLINICAL STUDY, COMPARATIVE STUDY Only Bahiparimarjana chikitsa (external application) will be done for 90 confirmed cases of Dadru ( Dermatophytosis ).

Complete your abstract at last Abstract is the summary of the entire synopsis . It will be easier to draft this section after you have finished everything about your synopsis 100- 200 words is needed to understand the basic research project. Include clear statement of the problem, main goals or objectives of your study, theories , conceptual framework , methods to reach your goals of objectives

Finalizing your synopsis Let your synopsis sit for a while before you start editing 1. Make writing clear and concise . get rid of passive voice , construct words in active voice. First person pronouns to describe clearly what you want to with your project. Eliminate sentence which don’t add any information.

1. Check the format of your references compare your references list with your synopsis Make sure all the entries are correct Read it aloud so that u can make out the errors into it.

2. Proofread your synopsis carefully Check spelling and punctuation. Read your synopsis backwards, this will help out isolating spelling errors Print your synopsis and circle every errors

3. Share your paper with classmates and friends for review. 4. Do a second round of editing.
