Criticising or complaining about something I wish he would stop shouting

Can you criticise yourself ? I __________________ (stop) eating ! I wish I would stop eating ! If only/I wish I stopped eating !

Wish / if only + past (for present/ future ) + past perfect (for past regrets ) Wish + would to criticise Wish I would Hope + present simple (or past simple to talk about the past)

Other expressions with PAST TENSES It’s about time +PAST SIMPLE e.g It’s about time we left I’d rather e.g. I’d rather you didn’t smoke Past simple or It looks as if /as though Past perfect e.g.It looks as if you had seen a ghost !
