1. INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICES INPUT DEVICES - are the devices that are used to send signals to the computer for performing tasks. The receiver at the end is the CPU (Central Processing Unit), which works to send signals to the output devices. 

2. EXAMPLES OF INPUT DEVICES Input Devices of Computer A piece of hardware/equipment that enables the user to enter data into a computer is called an input device. Some of the Commonly used input units used in a computer system are as follows: Keyboard Mouse JoyStick Light pen Track Ball Scanner Graphic Tablet Microphone Magnetic Ink Card Reader (MICR) Optical Character Reader (OCR) Barcode Reader Optical Mark Reader (OMR)

3. OUTPUT DEVICES Output Device :  A piece of equipment/hardware which gives out the result of the entered input, once it is processed (i.e. converts data from machine language to a human-understandable language), is called an output device. For example printer, monitor, etc.
