Automation in Street Light A project progress report submitted to Sant Longowal Institute Of Engineering And Technology Longowal, District – Sangrur (PUNJAB) Faculty Advisor Dr. Amrik Singh (Professor) ME Department Presented By Pranoy Mukherjee (GME/22), Ujjwal Kharwar (GME/22) Nikhil Kumar Sharma (GEC/22), Nikita Yadav (GME/22) Nisha Kumari (GEC/22), Aditya Kumar Arya (GEC/22)

CONTENT 01 02 03 04 Problem Statement Component used in the project Prototype of the proposed model Phase II

1 Existing public lighting systems consume unnecessary energy by remaining illuminated during daylight hours due to manual or timer-based control methods. This inefficiency results in the wastage of precious energy resources and increased operating costs. A more effective solution is needed to automatically adapt public lighting to the changing natural light conditions, reducing energy consumption and minimizing operational expenses. Problem

Energy Waste Manual or timer-based controls often result in lights being left on during the day, leading to energy inefficiency and higher costs High Maintenance Traditional systems require frequent maintenance, which can be costly and disrupt public spaces. Environmental Impact Excessive energy consumption and outdated technologies increase carbon emissions and environmental harm. Limited Monitoring There is a lack of centralized monitoring, making it challenging to quickly identify and address system failures 01 Problems with the existing system

2 The following project implements use of different sensors and microcontrollers and microprocessors to make the system truly enabled Components
