Early Life Of Shivaji Maharaj Shivaji’s Birth • Shivaji was born in Bhosale Gharana on 19th of February 1630 at Shivneri Fort, Shivneri , Ahmadnagar Sultanate (present day- Maharashtra, India Close to Junnar in Pune District). • Shivaji’s Maharaj Mother- Jijabai • Shivaji’s Father- Shahji Bhosale Shivaji Maharaj’s Mother was the daughter of the Sindkhed Leader Lakhujirao Jadhav and was known for her deep religious devotion. With Shahaj frequently away from pune , the atsk of managing Shivaji’s Education fell to a small council of advisory, This group included Peshwa Shamrao Nikanth , Mazumdar Balkrishna Pant, Sabnis Raghunath Ballal , Dabir Sonopant , And Dadoji Konddeo (Chief teacher). Traning of military and martial skill- Kanhoji jedhe and baji Psalkar .
Shivaji Maharaj’s Marriage Life Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj has eight wives. His first wife was Saibai, also known as Nimbalkar . The names of the other wives were Soyarabai , Mohite Putalabai , Palkar , Sakvarbi Gaikwad, Sangunabai , and Kashibai Jadhav . His first wife, Saibai, bore him Sambhaji and three daughters.
Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy reaches beyond historical records, impacting modern values. Renowned for his Dedication to Justice, Equality, and effective governance , his life remains a source of inspiration.
Guiding Principles of modern India This is Sanskrit term which means :LAW”, can be understood in multiple ways. Dharma Represents core value for individual. The Dharma can be understood in two ways,: 1. As a religious belief, and 2. As a set of duties or code of conduct. Shivaji M aharaj emerged as defender of dharma (righteousness) and united the Maratha territories into a single entity (Swarajya) based on principle of social harmony and the welfare of peasants.
Raj Dharma Raj Dharma means the duty of kings. it is primarily emphasized “ Vyavahar neeti”which are the practices the kings should follow to maintain their kingdom and ensure Loyalty from their subjects. Raj Dharma dictates that kings should always uphold the principle of justice as without justice everything loses it value. Weak leadership can result in Chao, so it is crucial for a king to maintain a strong control over the kingdom. Shivaji Maharaj administration of Swarajya was based on the Following Core principles: To enhance the well-being of his people and ensure the general welfare of the state To maintain a strong military force to protect the Swarajya To support the economic needs of people by promoting agriculture and industry
Artha - Meaning of Life Artha is linked to the Three key goals of human life, i.e. Dharma (Moral life), Kama (Pleasure, Sensuality and Emotional Fulfilment) Moksha (Liberation, Self- Actualisation ). Collectively these Four Interrelated are knowns as “ Purusartha ”.
