Image Analysis Essay
Writing an essay on image analysis can be a challenging yet intellectually stimulating task. The
difficulty lies not only in expressing personal opinions but also in critically analyzing visual
elements, deciphering their underlying meanings, and articulating these insights coherently. The
process involves a combination of visual literacy, research skills, and the ability to convey
nuanced interpretations in a written form.
To start with, one must carefully select the image for analysis, ensuring it is rich in visual
elements that can be dissected and discussed. This initial step requires a keen eye for detail and
an understanding of the subject matter. Once the image is chosen, the challenge is to delve into
the various components в Ђ“ colors, shapes, composition, symbolism, etc. Each element
contributes to the overall message conveyed by the image, requiring a deep dive into artistic and
cultural contexts.
Research is another crucial aspect. To provide a comprehensive analysis, one must investigate the
background of the image, the artist's intent, the historical context, and the cultural implications.
This demands not only solid research skills but also the ability to synthesize information and
present it in a way that enhances the reader's understanding.
Moreover, an image analysis essay should not merely describe the visual aspects but also
interpret their significance. This involves critical thinking and the ability to draw connections
between the visual elements and broader themes, ideologies, or cultural phenomena. It requires a
balance between subjective interpretation and evidence-based analysis.
Crafting a coherent and compelling essay involves effective organization and articulation of
thoughts. The writer must structure the essay logically, ensuring that each point flows seamlessly
into the next. Additionally, clarity of expression is crucial to convey complex ideas in a way that
is accessible to the reader.
In conclusion, writing an image analysis essay demands a unique set of skills в Ђ“ from visual
literacy and research proficiency to critical thinking and effective communication. It is a process
that challenges the writer to go beyond surface-level observations and delve into the intricate
layers of visual representation. However, with dedication and the right approach, one can unravel
the richness of meaning embedded in an image and convey it eloquently in the written form.

The Success Of Teachers And No Child Left Behind
The aim of educators is to provide opportunities for students to attain three primary
goals that facilitate participation, contributions, and success not only in schools, but
in the community as well. Those three goals are academic skill expertise, social
skill expertise, and lifestyle skill expertise. While easier said than done, these goals
are hindered by many social and behavioral problems. The most popular desire from
teachers is related to behaviorand classroom management (Elam, Rose, Gallup,
1999). The Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and No Child Left Behind
(NCLB) emphasize the use of scientifically based research to improve outcomes for
students. From this emphasis, response to intervention has evolved. In the early
1990s, many schools started enforcing a zero tolerance discipline system to try and
control misbehaving students, which eventually led to more out of school
suspensions and expulsions. Regardless of opinion, no current evidence in shown
that suspension and expulsion provide positive changes in student behavior (Skiba,
2000). Also, studies show racial, socioeconomical, and gender prejudices when
dealing with school discipline and students with disabilities are more likely to be
suspended than their peers (Krezmien, Leone, Achilles, 2006). Higher suspension and
expulsion rates are also intermingled with lower academic performance (Skiba, 2008)
and an increase with juvenile law enforcement. The means by which educators
When Humans Impose on the Environment, Expect
Negative...
Before the use of technology, humans had to solely rely on the environment to fulfill
their daily needs. Humans respected, and even feared nature for its destructive
capabilities. Before the use of technology, humans were connected with nature at an
almost spiritual level. They knew how to use the environment and sustain it at the
same time. Before technology, there was a natural balance between natureand
humans. Unfortunately, as humans developed by advancing in industry and
technology, a lot of the respect and fear once held for nature was lost, which lead to
an increase in the occurrences of environmental problems. The more humans used
technology, the more they imposed themselves on the environment, and the more their
connection with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Towards the beginning of the article Zimmerman states:
Killer whales have been starring at marine parks since 1965. There are 42 alive in
parks around the world today SeaWorld owns 26 of them and over the years more
than 130 have died in captivity. Until the 1960 s, no one really thought about putting
a killer whale in an aquarium, much less in a show. The public knew little about them
beyond the fact that they sounded dangerous. (331)
Zimmerman provides an excellent example of humans imposing on the environment
and losing respect for nature. As different types of entertainment developed over the
years, humans decided it would be a good idea to take killer whales from their natural
habitats and use them for entertainment purposes. In nature, every organism is
connected in some way. When the whales were taken from their natural habitats, part
of that connection with other organisms was lost. As society developed different
forms of entertainment, the respect for killer whales, and nature in general, was lost.
Unfortunately, Zimmerman s article is only one example of people losing respect for
nature. Similarly to Zimmerman, Amy Irvine shows that humans have lost their
respect for nature in her article Spectral Light. Irvine s article describes a dangerous
encounter between her husband and a black bear in their yard, along with the
reactions of the townsfolk. After her husband s encounter with the bear, there
Pros And Cons Of Neo-Classical Realism
Neo Classical Realism in Analysing Crisis Management: The Case of Turkish
Foreign Policy Crisis
Abstract
This paper aims to examine the pros and cons of neo classical realism as a
theoretical approach to analyze the decision making and crisis management processes
in foreign policy. Neoclassical realism is an emerging school of foreign policy
theories, which integrates international system and domestic political environment to
explain states foreign policy behavior. It identifies a state s interest, identity and
preference as an intervening variable between the international system and foreign
policy behavior. As Schweller (2003) points out, it also brings the statesman back in.
Relying on the propositions of neoclassical realism, this paper ... Show more content

For each crisis independent and intervening variables have differentiated, in some
crises domestic factors or individual agent would become significant while others
systemic factors do. Therefore it could be best foreign policy analysis to combine
two levels to explain crisis policy behavior. Each crisis is unique and needed to
analyzed within its genuine conditions. This paper tests whether neoclassical realism
is suitable to analyze both each crisis and crisis management.
Turkey s foreign policy crisis behavior and management can be explained within
neoclassical realism framework while looking at different international system or
different government period in the same international system. At the same time even
though regional agenda is different from systemic one, neoclassical realism can
present a behavior model with intervening variables.
There are four different systemic changes, which affect Turkish foreign policy crisis
since 1923; these are balance of powers, World War II, Cold War, post Cold War era.
Each international system has a different characteristics and their involvement to
crisis have different consequences. This table shows four international systems and
33 crises with involved countries, which Turkey has faced and . As seen from the
table most crises have been occurred during the Cold War period the result of

Chinese Philosophy And The Mandate Of Heaven
Chinese Philosophy has been dominated by Humanistic ideology since the dawn of
documented Chinese history. Chinese Humanistic philosophy aimed to profess the
unity of man and Heaven as well as man and nature, unlike humanism that amines
to discredit or deny a supreme power. This philosophic idea developed over time
through the development of social and historical change. Following the conquest
of Shang dynasty by the Chou in 1111 B.C., the Mandate of Heaven produced by
the Chou, held a doctrine to justify right to rule outside of birth or blood right.
(TSait wing.) The doctrine created in the Mandate of Heaven, states man s destiny
mortal and immortal depended not on the existence of a soul before birth or death
nor upon the whim of a spiritual force, but upon his own good words and good deed
during is present life (Tsit Chan... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before humanistic movement one s ability to rule or move up depended on
birthrights alone. Those born in royal families became rulers, whether capable or not,
though Humanism focuses on the fact that people are born at an equal level, and
their behaviors during their life time should dictate their place in society and the
afterlife. Wing Tsit Chang summarized this perfectly that, Human personal power was
supplanted by human virtue and human effort, and man, through his moral deeds,
could now control his own destiny (Chang 3). The development of humanism majorly
changed social, cultural, and political aspects of Chinese life styles. This paper will
examine two ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius and Zhuangzi, who both studied
Humanistic philosophy, though drew different conclusions as to the ethicial

Similarities Between Slavery And Frederick Law Olmsted
In documents 1 and 2, both excerpts bring about a case on the immorality of slavery
based upon the owner s connection to the treatment of their so called property. In
document 1, Frederick Law Olmsted discusses the complications of slave
management that fuel the heated dispute on the harsh treatment of slaves by the
masters while also explaining the factors that shift the severity of the slave system.
Overall, Frederick Law Olmsted comes into conclusion that slaveryis never either
consistently humane of consistently economical (Doc 1). This being said tells us that
the human disposition of harshly enslaving for profit can be seen as a means of
benefitting the economy and thus accepted while at another point in the century,
portrayed as a sin against humanity.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, in order to progressively produce profit, slave owners are forced to
continue their already brutal system. The slavery system is further illustrated by
Frederick when he states that the treatment of the mass must be reduced to a system
(Doc 1). As Frederick states, the organization of slaves must be seen as a system,
which tells us that slaves are merely property to be exploited with by the owners
instead of eliciting emotional attachment that would slow down. All in all, Frederick
Law Olmsted understands that the management of slaves is contradictory, but in
conclusion realizes that if slaves are to be abused for profit, reduced human morality

Designing A Website For Your Own Website
In these days, many people need a web site to do almost everything. Every age
group is using it in different ways. Teenagers use for schoolwork, gaming, social
media, online shopping or other variables. Adults definitely use a website for
business and many other purposes. In order to design a website, the designer
should make sure that it s easy to use for every age group and can find what they
need within a few clicks. This will give you some guideline of how to design your
own websiteby following these steps.
There are several things to consider before beginning to design your website. If you
are designing a website for companies you should understand company s
expectations such as target market, goal, and company information. In order to
make a website, you need to learn some web coding. Every user will expect to find
the information that they need from your website. Make sure that they are able to
find as quickly and easily as possible.
Before you start, you have to find a domain name hosting. A domain name is the
name you want to give your website, such as www.home.com. To make your domain
name work you have to pay registration fees, so you have the right to use that name.
A web hosting is the company that has many computers connected to the Internet.

Summary Of The Origin Of Species By Means Of Natural...
Charles Darwin was an English naturalist, geologist, and biologist who lived from
1809 to 1882. Darwin is most famously known for his contribution to evolutions. He
published a book known as The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection.
This book emphasizes two theories known as descent with modification and natural
selection. Descent with modification is a common ancestry between organisms.
Natural selection is the process where organisms slowly change to be better adapted
to their environment. Traits that lead an organism to have success in its lifetime are
passed down to the next generation. Taits not well suited for their environment
usually lead an organism to death before the organism can reproduce. Once an
organism dies it genes die with it. In order for changes in the organism s phenotype
to occur, an organism s genotype must be changed. This can occur by genetic
mutation. Mutations are changes in an organism s DNA. A single nucleotide change
can have a large effect on an organism s appearance. Gene flow which is any
movement of genes from one population to another is a large source of genetic
variation. Both mutations and gene flow can cause... Show more content on

The only way a population can reach Hardy Weinberg equilibrium is if the population
is large, there is random mating, not mutations, not migration, and no natural
selection. Hardy Weinberg equilibrium is only a theory and is never found in nature.
A population will undergo evolution if there is genetic drift. This changes gene
frequency due to chance in a small population. Most organisms don t randomly mate,
they chose a mate based on their characteristics and ability to survive. This is also
why organisms go through evolution. Mutations are uncontrollable and are bound too

Ethnography Of The Blue House
Ethnography of the Blue House : Plano Day Labor Center While making the drive
on my way to school, my father decides to take a short detour to go pay his worker.
It is early in the morning and still very grey outside which facilitated my usual
slumber. This detour meant nothing more to me than simply that of a detour, but
it wasn t until I was suddenly awaken by the car being strangely rocked like that of
a small raft in the sea. Being nearly eight years old, I m instantly on high alert and
very confused. There is a man in the passenger seat saying hello to me as my dad
pays him for a honest day s worth in a moving job the day before, but surrounding
the car are about 25 men eagerly trying to speak with my father. Not only was my
early morning routine nap disrupted, I truly believed I woke up to a nightmare. As
we drove away, my dad laughed telling me to say goodbye to the blue house. After
this experience, I simply stated to my dad that I would never return to this place
ever again. I was legitimately horrified and pledged to never return. As a kid, I
could simply decide to ignore and choose to not care for what I had witnessed, but
as I grew up, curiosity and acquired knowledge promoted awareness. I simply
became intrigued, and decided to confront a childhood fear. I was not expecting for
this fear to then transform into compassion, but while gaining exceedingly more
information, I have grown a profound interest that I believe needs to be exposed to in
our society.
The Speech On African American Church
Sunday was often the only day that enslaved blacks did not have to work. The
Sabbath became a full day of preaching, community building and socializing. The
African American church still maintains this practice of an extended worship day
with longer services and sermons than most other religious. The average time for
blacks churches services is about ninety minutes, with the sermons lasting more than
thirty minutes long. This is the etiquette article of African American churches. The
Methodist church, however, rules governs differently. Their etiquette is designed
specifically and honorably to God. The honoring of the sanctuary in reference to the
pulpit, communion table, maintain silence before God, church bibles and hymnals,
treatment of the pews. Languages that honors God, enter and exit as directed

Noah s Ark Vs. The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The story of Noah s Ark in the first part of the Bible, Genesis 6 9, is probably the
best known story of the great flood, versus The Epic of Gilgamesh, and the parallels
between the two is strikingly similar but still notably different. The similarities
mostly stem from Christians interpretations of the Hebrew bible by relaying on
stories from The Epic of Gilgameshto find God s hidden messages. The Epic of
Gilgamesh has broadly the same structure and plot as Noahs Ark, suggesting the
Biblical account largely borrowed from its neighbor, the Babylonians, stories found
recorded on clay tablets. It is important to recall the connections between the Epic and
the Biblical version and contrast to properly celebrate the impact these two stories...

In The Epic of Gilgamesh, it is Utanapishtim as the chosen survivor because he
follows the god Ea, and Noah is chosen in the Hebrew bible because he worshiped
God. Utanapishtim and Noah build an ark under the guidance of their seer to bring
all species of animal and any food. Utanapishtim was allowed to bring whatever
silver, gold, all of his family and kin onto the ship while Noah was only allowed to
bring his immediate family and son s wives. Noah had order from God to bring
specifically two of each kind of creatures and even the creepy crawlers onto the
boat. Unlike like Noah, who built the boat alone, Utanapishtim had a helping hand
in building the ark from skilled craftsmen, whom he showered in bullocks, sheep,
and provided multiple beverages. Noah s boat was three hundred cubits, the ark s
length; fifty cubits, its width; thirty cubits, its height. (pg.., Genesis 6 9) This
created a rectangle shape in contrast of Utanapishtim s square boat space of ten
dozen cubit, the height of each of her sides, ten dozen cubits square, her outer
dimensions. (The Epic of Gilgamesh,..) However, both characters were ordered to
build a door, at least one window, and pitch the outside coating. In both stories, the
downpour of the heavy rain flooded the land of living things and mountain, but in
the biblical version the flood lasted forty days and forty nights while The Epic of

Women have been heroic and courageous throughout history, though not all of these
heroic (or courageous) adventures have been shown in any way. Some of women s
heroic and courageous adventures are portrayed through short stories, books, and
movies. Eudora Welty s short story A Worn Path, Barbara Kingsolver s book The Bean

In The Bean Trees the character Taylor goes through some of her own courageous

Musical Analysis Of Singin In The Rain
Going over sextuple the budget, singin in the rain has stood the test of time to be
the best musical of all time (IMDb). It contains notable songs that we still use
today like Good Morning. The reason why I picked the film for my scene analysis
is because it was the first musical I actually enjoyed. I also picked it because it was
the latest film I watched and it is still fresh in my mind. The only part that I did not
like or did not get was the broadway musical part. It seemed like it was a time filler
and nothing else. The scene I am going to talk about is the one where the musical
score Singin in the rainhappens. I chose it because it is singin in the rains most
iconic scene. I also chose it since I think it has a couple references and
foreshadowing in the scene. This scene in singin in the rain has the theme of
happiness. The scene starts with a long shot showing Kathy and Don saying
goodnight and flirting with each other. Their flirting right away shows that this is
a happy scene. The flirting ends with a kiss and Kathy goes inside their house.
Don walks to the car with his arm out, looking at the sky with a smile on his face.
He tells his taxi driver to drive off and continues to walk in the rain. He begins to
sing singin in the rain in the rain with a smile on his face. Most movies use the rain
for a sad, gloomy mood. In this scene, the rain is used to show happiness and
determination. He puts down and folds up his umbrella and continues walking and

death is considered feared and an undesired event in someone s life. In Thanatopsis
William Cullen Bryant takes a more subtle view. Through the work of literary
devices, Bryant used personification and metaphors to convey that deathis more
pleasant and calming. With a fascinating biography and a successful writing career,
Bryant managed to live a long profound life with a career in law and having a loving

of this lunch meeting that the 6 men had they ended up using all of their theatres in

Forms of theatre at the the time had became very direct regarding box office

other people who had praised the theatrical syndicate in the beliefs that the theatrical

Daniel Frohman, which is a brother of one of the men which are in the Theatrical

The story Everyday Use is set in the southern part of the US in the early 1970 s, a
time when many african americans were still being mistreated and were adapting
to the changing times just after a civil rights period. Alice Walker presents two of
the main characters in the story, Mama and Dee, as culturally opposite and having
different views towards the role of their shared heritage. The style dialogue
between them and the structure of the story highlight these conflicting values and
send a message to the reader that black southern culture and one based on African
roots can t coexist. Rather, they will attempt to cut each other out and end up
hurting their overall culture. Walker s unique structural choice to open the story
up with Mama describing herself and then describe how Dee would like her to be
is indicative of the inability of these two cultures to accept one another. Mama
starts by saying In real life I am a large, big boned woman with rough, man working
hands. In the winter I wear flannel nightgowns to bed and overalls during the day. I
can kill and clean a hog as mercilessly as a man. My fat keeps me hot in zero weather.
I can work outside all day, breaking ice to get water for washing. I can eat pork liver
cooked over the open fire minutes after it comes steaming from the hog (315). This
excerpt is a clear example of how black southerners must do hard labor, sometimes
not the labor that is accepted by most of society, in order to get by. She sounds proud
Critical Study And Analysis Of Oral Care
The purpose of this document is a critical study and analysis of the oral care
provided by nursing staff as part of the Ventilator Care Bundle (VCB) and to assess
whether the frequency of mouth care performed is related to the prevention of
Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) in patients mechanically ventilated
(Zilberberg et al. 2009).
The following document is a case study written by an intensive care nurse, who will
explore the oral care provided to a patient admitted in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
and will assess the overall care process. Additionally, the frequency, products used and
techniques performed will be evaluated.

ICU patients suffer from a broad range of pathologies, requiring MV, sedation and
use of multiples devices, which do not allow patients to protect their airway
(Augustyn. 2007; Kollef. 2004).
Oral care aims to supply an adequate hygiene level, which leads to reduce
colonisation of dental plaque and oropharynx and to reduce the aspiration of
contaminated secretions into the lower airway (Feider et al. 2010). Research has
demonstrated that colonisation of the airway and aspiration of colonised saliva are
the two main pathogenic causes of VAP (Adib Hajbaghery et al. 2011). Other cause
is the production of a biofilm along the endotracheal tube (ETT) which contains large
quantities of microbes that could be spread into the lungs by ventilator induced
breaths (Keyt et al. 2014; Palomar et al. 2010). Additionally, instilling saline into the
ETT, suctioning secretions, repositioning the ETT or coughing, could dislodge the
biofilm into the airway and increase the risk of VAP (Moore. 2003; Morehead and
Pinto. 2002).
According to Hunter (2012, p.40) VAP is a hospital acquired pneumonia that occurs
48 hours or more after tracheal intubation or acute tracheostomisation . VAP is one of
the most common nosocomial infection responsible for one third of mortal
respiratory infections in European ICUs (Adib Hajbaghery et al. 2011).
Despite of its high incidence, identifying VAP infection requires a
The Tale Of The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Once upon a time, a poor peasant lived with his seven quarreling sons in a cozy
cottage amidst the enveloping woods. All of the peasant s sons had an extremely
cold heart and a selfish mind except the youngest, Lumio. He was different. A
charming boy he was; an outgoing personality he possessed. And of course, his
older brothers, especially Fuscus, grew more and more envious of him until one
day, they succumbed to the envy as they could take it no more. You see, all the
brothers loved an enchanting princess who ruled over their small plot of land. Day
after day, and night after night, they cared only about the princess and none other.
They saw their youngest brother as a vexing, immediate hindrance to their already
slim chances of impressing the so desired princess as they feared that if the
princess met Lumio, the couple would forever be knit, and so, the story continues.
Frustrated, the jealous brothers devised a wicked, desperate plot to rid themselves
of their annoying hindrance, their brother. Fuscus, the oldest brother, spoke. Have
you heard of the deep, dank well beyond the wood? Legend has it that the well is
cursed to be the lair of the Golden Devil. What say? And so, the next day, Lumio and
his brothers walked to the well in silence. A repeated, resonating caw from a raven
made even Fuscus himself turn cold with fear as if it was a glaring reminder of the
terrible deed he would perform very soon. Closer and closer the well drew, each step,
a mile. Poor Lumio
Muslim Women In America
The issue of women in Islam is highly controversial. As a Muslim American living in
the United States many times I get judged about my religion. People think that
because I am a Muslim woman in America I am being restricted from many things
and can t be like every other woman in America. Islam has many similarities with
other religionand it does have its differences. Being raised as a Muslim woman in
America has made me the strong and independent woman I am today. I am going to
be talking about my own religion that I m well knowledgeable of. What the media

Immanuel Kant Biography
Immanuel Kant was born Emmanuel in eastern Prussia into a poor family in 1724.
His family had originally emigrated from Scotland where they spelled their last
name Cant. Emmanuel s family was quite large by today s standards consisting of
nine children, he was the fourth born and only one of four to make it to adulthood.
He and his siblings grew up in a Pietist house, the focus of Pietism was the literal
study of the bible. Their childhood was a strict and punitive one that stressed religious
teachings over the sciences and mathematics. After learning Hebrew, Emmanuel
changed his name to Immanuel. While attending the Collegium Fridericianum was a
good student, Immanuel improved his studies and eventually enrolled at the
University of Kongsberg by age 16 in 1740. It is there that he taught about the great
philosophers Leibniz and Wolff by a rationalist Martin Knutzen. It is also here where
Kant was exposed to the mathematical physicsof Sir Isaac Newton. In 1746 Kant s
father died, he left the university to become a private tutor. Kant would eventually

become known as the First Critique. In this book, Kant laid out the limits and scope
of pure reason. This is where Kant explained the major differences with priori and
posteriori knowledge. He also went on to define analytic and synthetic judgements.
This book was very hard to read due to it using complex, confusing terminology and
being a very dry topic. Kant tried to clear up confusion from his first book by
writing a second shorter one titled Prolegomena to any Future Metaphysics (1783),
this one was easier to read and set the path for his view on metaphysics and
Addams Family Values
Analyse the relationship between childhood and death in Addams Family Values
(1993).
Traditionally there are two ways in which the relationship between childhood and
death has been represented in film. In the first of these the child is positioned as the
powerless and tragic victim of death in line with Romantic ideals of childhood as a
time of innocence of purity. The second common narrative of childhood and death is
an attack on the Romantic idealization of the child , in which the child is the
perpetrator of death. The portrayal of children Addams Family Values would appear
to align with this narrative of the evil child because it depicts Wednesday and Pugsley
scheming to murder their brother. However, I would argue that they do not ... Show

Wednesday appears several times in the film with dolls on which she enacts the
violence she wishes to enact on Pubert. Dolls are traditionally used as baby
substitutes whom young girls take care of as part of their social conditioning into
the role of motherhood. Wednesday s violent attitude towards dolls reflects
another way in which her relationship with death is a form of rebellion, in this case
a rebellion against prescriptive gender roles, a point I will return to later. One final
example of the relationship between death and play in the film is the trading cards
of schizos and serial killers which Joel and Pugsley play with. I mention this
example here because it demonstrates yet another way in which Addams Family
Values presentation of death as play works to subvert gender stereotypes
surrounding violence, namely in its focus on female killers rather than male.
There are three women shown on the cards, Lizzie Borden, Amy Fisher and the
film s fictional Black Widow , each of whom committed a violent crime at odds with
the public perception of physical violence [as] a masculine form of aggression . That
for the two boys these women s value lies in their violent acts is also transgressive of
expectations for girls to fulfil role of care and

Environmental Destruction in Southeast Asia
Thesis
For a developing nation, the progression of its economy is crucial and the focus on
the economies of Southeast Asia have taken the region as a whole quite far in a
very impressive time period; however, the region must adapt to the problematic
climate change issues of the world as it is still in its developing stage given that if
the natural resources of the region are used up, there will not be very many sources
to allow the region to sustain its economy upon.
Background information
Essentially all if not, most of the Southeast Asian nations lie amid the tropics, which
inevitably results in similarities in the climate and wildlife through the entire region.
The atmosphere is consistently warm with the exception of highland areas, in which
the climate tends to be cooler. Southeast Asia is home to numerous goods
/commodities that were exclusive to the region, which predictably made the region
as a whole more coveted by traders from across the globe. As mentioned in the book
Southeast Asia (Routledge Revivals): A Region in Transition, things like nutmeg,
mace and cloves were formerly only available in the region of Southeast Asia in the
nation of Maluku and the spice islands of eastern Indonesia. These commodities have
helped the region prosper as a whole, the economy of Southeast Asian nations relies
heavily upon the natural resources of the region. The natural resources have helped

Cottonwood Research Papers
Cottonwood Trees
Native to the United States, cottonwood trees preferred habitat in the wild include
moist bottomland areas and around lakes and streams. Those wishing to add one to
their landscape need to consider all aspects of the tree before planting, as the tree
has a variety of drawbacks that don t make it suitable for many locations.
Basic Description
Eastern cottonwood (Populus deltoids), which is also its common name, is a fast
growing deciduous tree that obtains an additional 6 feet of growth yearly and
reaches a mature height and width of 100 feet. Due to this habit of quick growth, the
wood is soft and brittle, breaking easily in windy conditions.
Bark, Stems and Foliage
The bark and trunk on a mature cottonwood tree is deeply furrowed, thick and gray
and with younger trees, the bark is a greenish gray. Young stems and branches are a
yellowish green in color, changing to a grayish color as they age. Mature trees
develop an open and irregular shaped crown.
Foliage is thick and heart shaped with coarse ridges lining the edges, averaging 2 to
6 inches long. During the growing season their color is green, changing to yellow
during the fall before the foliage drops during the winter months. The several inch
long and flattened petiole allow the leaves to flap from side to side in windy
conditions.
Flowers and Seeds
Eastern cottonwood trees are dioecious, meaning there are male and female trees
producing flowers, though the female trees are the ones
An Example Of A Private Sector Business
Business Organisations Task 1
A private sector business is a business that is part of the economy that is not state
controlled. It is run by individuals and companies who are mainly for profit. These
businesses are not owned or operated by government. An example of a private
sector business would be ASDA. Asda Stores limited is an American owned,
British founded supermarket retailer. The company has been a subsidiary of the
American retail company Wal Mart since July 1999, and is now the second largest
supermarket chain by market share (Corporate Watch 1996 2014). The company
provides normal goods for the public. They offer service to the public and strive for
excellence business. I chose this example because ASDA is a large company that is
aiming for profit and it is a private sector business.
A public sector business is a business that usually composed of organisations that are
owned and operated by the government (PrivacySense2015).
The primary difference between public and private sector businesses is who they
for. Public sector employees are who those work for government. An example of
public sector would be public schools. The purpose of schools is that they provide
education for the young people and public schools are funded by government to offer
education to students. I chose public schools business they are from public sector and
because they use government funding to offer education to the children. Public
schools offer free education and they are

land. They had protection from hills and mountains. They were the wealthiest and
largest empire in the whole world. Critics argue that decay in economic and civic life
helped bring about the Fall of Rome, however, military mistakes was the primary
reason behind the decline of the empire. Over time, the Romans started to get lazy
and negative changes happened in the Roman Military Recruiting.
First and foremost the Romans started to get lazy and it seemed like they gave up.
According to the excerpt by Vegetius on Document B it shows that the Romans
stopped wearing their breastplates and helmets for protection. When the Romans didn

According to the passage by Peter Stearns in Document F it shows that Rome had to
hire soldiers to protect them. That showed that they were scared and wanted other
people to do the work for them. It was unnecessary for them to do that because they
were very powerful and other empires were scared of them. Now the Roman Empire
is scared of other empires. As seen in the excerpt by Michael Grant in Document B
it shows that Rome forced other soldiers to fight for them because they were
scared and didn t want, too. That wasn t a very good decision Rome made. If they
make other soldiers do their job, they are not real and good soldiers. It was also
wrong of Rome to force them to fight for them even if Rome can do it perfectly
fine. They had to leave their loved ones to go fight in a battle where they were most
likely going to die
Essay about Benefits of Medical Abbreviations
Benefits of Medical Abbreviations There are many benefits of medical
abbreviations. One benefit of medical abbreviations is how much easier it makes it
to read a chart. This speeds up the process by knowing the abbreviations and the
use of them. It is nice to simplify things by using medical abbreviations when it is a
busy day. The other reason to use medical abbreviations is so that only the medical
personnel will know what is being described. It is a very efficient way of
maintaining a patient s privacy. Everybody does not need to know a patient s
medical history or what is going on with a patient or resident and allows their privacy

Similarities Between Lincoln And Douglass
During the time of 1858, tension was high and many people were frustrated about
the idea of slavery in Illinois. Two people that seemed to be caught in the middle of
several feuds were Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas. Lincoln and Douglas
were battling for a seat in the Illinois Senate. In seven debates they stated their
opinion on the main topic at the time, which was slavery. Lincoln thought the idea
of slavery was unjust and wanted to give slaves the same rights others had.
Douglas believed that slavery should be settled by popular sovereignty. Lincoln
and Douglas are similar because of their early political life, but are also different
because of their views on slavery and their political platform. During Lincoln s
early political years, He lived in a town called New Salem, Illinois, and began to
study law. In 1834, he was elected to be the legislature as a Whig, where he
criticized slavery as founded on both injustice and bad policy . Three years later
Lincoln moved to Springfield, and became a licensed attorney. He began to form a

How To Be A Cleats Essay
Having the right pair of shoes is significant in any sport. In an intense, fast, contact
sport as soccer, having the perfect pair of cleats or boots can greatly affect a player s
performance. Comfort is of utmost importance since the players will be wearing the
cleats in a variety of movements such as running, leaping, jumping, passing, and
kicking.
Aside from comfort and right size, what else should you consider in choosing the
right shoes for soccer?
First, the type of cleats you will choose must depend on the position you ll be
playing. If you re a defensive player, you may want to go for cleats that can protect
your feet more. For goal keepers, wingers and forwards, lightweight boots that can
support quick movements are necessary. Midfielders need shoes that offer absolute
comfort while running for a long period of time. In relation to the role you ll be
playing during the game, cleats can also be categorized according to what you ll use
it for. You may go for cleats with control; these pairs will help you in giving firm
passes. Lightweight boots usually focus more on speedy movements across the field.
There are also hybrid boots they give a combination of speed and control. Boots that

Kidney stones are hard, crystalline deposits in the kidney. They are usually
hexagonal, eighty percent of which are made of calcium. These calcium stones are

Also, the urine begins to get backed up, and the bladder and urinary tract begins to

either by slicing the bladder or kidney open, or by shoving an instrument up the ureter.
Fortunately, through the miracles of technology, one does not necessarily have to go

your body has the same properties as water, sound wise. Afterward, one should walk

Classroom management creates a set of expectations used in an organized classroom
environment. It includes routines, rules and consequences. Effective classroom

Classroom management has an impact of teacher effectiveness on student

students interested in learning through the use of exciting classroom materials and
activities. Some say the most effective teachers are the ones that have great classroom

Weaknesses Of The Articles Of Confederation
The Revolutionary War victory that was won by the American colonies came as a
shock to both Americans and the rest of the world. This near impossible win sparked
inspiration in many countries, including the French who fired up their own bloody
revolution less than ten years later. However, many precarious steps were taken by
the Americans in order to get as far as they did. Published after the Declaration of
Independence and in order to convince France that a government was in the making, a
constitution was appointed by the Second Continental Congress to be written by a
committee. The Articles of Confederationwere finished in 1777 and lastly ratified by
Maryland in 1781. Though the document was needed at the time in order to help
govern the budding nation, the Articles had many flaws that needed new finishing.
Overall, the Articles of Confederation were terribly ineffective at solving any of the
problems, such as debt, that confronted the new United Statesof America after the
Revolutionary War. Because of the lack of congressional authority and the
overwhelming power of the states granted within the document, the Articles of
Confederation highlighted a loose friendship of states as opposed to a tight knit
union. One of the main problems within the Articles of Confederation was the fact
that it purposefully established a weak central government. This was done for the sole
reasoning that it was a belief among the common people that a strong national
government would abuse

Feminist Story Of Disney s The Princess And The Frog
The story of Tiana in the movie The Princess and the Frog is one of Disney s more
progressive princess movies in that it moved away from the typical, cookie cutter
princess story in which the woman needs saving from the handsome and charming
prince. The movie is the story of Tiana, a young, African American woman of low
socioeconomic status, who lives in New Orleans. The movie centers around Tiana s
dream of owning her own restaurant named Tiana s Palace and how she gets to her
happily ever after of owning her restaurant. Though progressive the movie still
contains similar traits to other Disney princess movies. The Princess and the Frog
exhibits traits of Feminist theories throughout Tiana s journey in building her
restaurant while the movie still undermines the oppression of women. Moreover, in
her journey aspects of Karl Marxist s commodity theory arises when Tiana interacts
with other characters in the movie. Marx s commodity theory is a two category
theory; objects become commodities when they have more use than their standard
value. When commodities are traded they can either have exchange or sign

Ptsd In Pregnant Women
PTSD is a vast disorder, meaning that it does not have only one cause or treatment.
The brain is a complicated and unique part of the body and it can be affected by
many different factors. When evaluating the causes of Posttraumatic Stress
Disorder, it is easy to see that no two cases are exactly the same, a group of people
could go through the same event, hurricane Katrina, in New Orleans, for example.
Countless people were affected by Katrina, many of them in a similar and yet, every
person was emotional and mentally affected differently. Some of them now have
PTSDand some do not, this is because every person is different. Factors such as,
gender, race, background, affect how a person will react to a traumatic event, which
makes PTSD a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The study consisted of ninety women, thirty five of those had no mental health
issues, the fifty five were diagnosed with PTSD caused by child maltreatment. It
was found that overall women with PTSD have a more difficult time
understanding emotion. Because these subjects all had PTSD from being
mistreated as children this makes sense. It is more difficult to understand how a
person feels when they were not given care and attention as children. This study is
odd because of the specific field of PTSD chosen because this technically would
not need to be about those with PTSD, only those that were mistreated as children.
An interesting form of treatment for PTSD is exposure therapy, this treatment is
for people with PTSD as well as substance abuse disorder (Coffey). There were 126
subjects all from an unlocked 6 week community residential SUD treatment
facility. The idea behind the study was to add prolonged exposure to a 12 step
program for those with PTSD SUD. It was found that as with other cases prolonged
exposure is helpful to those with PTSD and if it is early on in the substance abuse
issue then it is helpful with

North Carolina State University Scholarship Essay
I am a currently a Junior, at Warren New Tech High School, and I just started my
second semester. I am a hardworking student, who likes to maintain her academics,
as high as possible. I used to always get A and B Honor Roll (Freshmen and
Sophomore year), but so far this year I have been able to make Principal s List, this
was during my first semester. I am really hoping that I will get accepted into North
Carolina State University(NCSU), it s considered as my top choice and they have a
really significant Agriculture Program. I know how important it is to actually get
a scholarship, when you are applying these top colleges, especially if you don t
have a resource for that kind of money. I have gotten very interested in working

Some of the products that I would produce, would not only be used for food, but

How Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents Essay
How the Garcia girls lost their accents by Julia Alvarez talks about the four girls
fleeing to the united states after their father s attempt to overthrow dictator is
undiscovered. They arrived in Brooklyn, New York to a life totally different from
the one back home where their name inspired respect and had dozens of maids
serving them fine foods in silverware, but had to live in fear of uncles disappearing
by the hand of the secret police. In the new world their parents try to hold onto their
old traditions, but the girls have a different idea and instead try to find new lives for
themselves but find themselves caught between the old and the new world. The novel
tells their struggle to fit in and to express/communicate themselves. The story is all
about one of the many aspects of the immigrant experience; language barrier and the
power of word/being able to express oneself. The book is extremely popular among
Hispanic immigrants for its relatableness. Although an unpopular opinion, I wouldn t
recommend Millennials to read the novel because its complex storyline, poor

For instant, the team and fair treatment have approximately no influence on the
overall engagement level. Although, even work and line management has performed
higher than 60% that is a point of congratulation in comparison with other drivers,
the strongest one, leadership and managing change, is remaining in the same
position. In order to compare the strength of different drivers, there is 73% of the
staff that satisfied with their team and only 30% positive answer with leadership
style in the organization. By the fact, that leadership has the strongest impact of the
engagement level, the changes in it would be crucial for it, unlike the job
satisfaction with the team. For the all three key drivers of engagement, leadership,
work and line management, Home Office still stay below the benchmark that
estimated by CS2012 by 11%, 9% and 5% respectively.
Leadership and managing change
There are 18% of respondents considers that all of the changes in the organization
are making their work better. It is disappointing, but the score is lower from
previous year for 1% and for 7% lower than average level among other civil
departments. From the point of view of 31% of staff, Home Office has clear
understanding of future goal. It is good to know that this number increased form
previous year for 2%, however it is still under the benchmark by 9%. The feeling,
that organization as a whole is managed well, is inherent only for 28% of employees.
It is worse than past result for 1%
Contextual Theory Application Essay
Today s society contributes to one s successes and failures as a result of the
individual s characteristics and ignorance of his or her surroundings. However, a
novel, and overlooked sociological concept, contextual explanation, provides a
solution for this oversight. More specifically, contextual explanation states members
of society should examine beyond an individual s traits like motivation and
determination, and rather, into one s environment and how it environment has
attributed to their success or failure. For instance, investigating an individual s family

Essay on Birches by Robert Frost
Birches I believe so much of poetry enlists the senses, beginning with the sense of
sound. Whether it s the rhythmic flow of the poem or the mere need to recite the
words for a clearer understanding. The sense of sight can t help but participate
while one reads a poem. It s like asking an artist to paint how he feels. Imagery is a
key part of poetry creating a visual understanding. In the end poetry give a voice to
the unsayable in our lives and indeed to life itself. After reading Birches by Robert
Frost, my senses were reeling. The poem reads beautifully and is soothing to the ear.
The imagery also paints a scene I have witnessed many winter days, growing up in the
mountains. Robert Frost, while knowing the realistic cause behind... Show more

Frost then suggests that he had rather imagine a little boy causing the bending of
the branches by swinging and playing on them. He begins to tell a story within the
poem. It is a story of a little boy living in a rural territory, possibly a farm, going out
to do his chores, like fetching the cows, but gets side tracked by both the beauty of
the woods and his wanting to play. Because the little boy is in a secluded
environment he is forced to entertain himself. He has become accustomed to
playing on his father s trees, one by one he would conquer them all. He has been a
frequent swinger of the birches and has taken the stiffness out of them and caused
the branches to bend. Frost goes on to say He learned all there was to learn about
not launching out too soon And so not carrying the tree away. The little boy knows
exactly how far to bend the branches without breaking them. Frost uses the image
of filling a cup to the brim and even above the brim to illustrate to the reader just
how close the boy is to breaking the branches. We all have filled our cups to the top
and then had the challenge of carrying the cup without spilling the contents. Frost
again has used a simple comparison to make his point. I, like Frost, prefer the
explanation of the bent birches

Essay on Gilgamesh s Heroism
A hero is someone who tries the best to help everyone and will do everything in his
or her power to help out another person. The term hero means different things to
different people. Today many people believe that a hero is a person who can
accomplish what others can not or a person who puts themselves on the line for the
other people. Men, women and children can all be heroes if they truly feel in their
hearts the need to help others in even the smallest ways. In our modern world heroes
are defined in so many ways. Anyone can be a hero, a best friend, a devoted mother
/father, a teacher, etc. On the other hand, in the older days, before laws and
technology, heroes were the men who fought against evil things, who rescue damsels

Ancient Sumerian culture valued the ideas of heroism. The epic shows their
societal values of heroism, knowledge and loyalty and their importance. One of
these values is the act of having right conduct to others or heroism. Gilgamesh, in
the story, displays heroic actions by slaying the Bull of Heaven, which was
created to destroy him. Gilgamesh praises who is the most glorious of heroes, the
most eminent among men (table 1, column iii, 23) Actually, the epic protagonist is
Gilgamesh, he is the main character in the story. Gilgamesh is a character who is
very self confident. He feels that he is superior to others, due to the fact that he is
two thirds god, and one third man. This arrogance leads to his being cruel at the
beginning of the story. Gilgamesh is described as, two thirds of him divine, one
third human. He oppresses the weak ones. Also he does not let the young woman

In The Yellow Wallpaper there are two details that seem irrelevant that turn out to be
relevant after reading the story. In the beginning of the story the narrator talks about
her room with the bars on the windows and the wallpaper torn off the walls from the
children who lived in the house before. Another detail would be when the narrator

In the second page of the story the narrator talks about her room in there vacation

this on page 8. The front pattern does move and no wonder! The woman behind

Ancient India s Caste System
Over three thousand years ago ancient India had made up the Caste system. The
Caste system was created so that all people could make spiritual and economic
advancements in their lives. For many people it helped them more of a peaceful life
so that their next life would be better than what it was in the life they were living at
that point in time. Many people these days would think that since the castesystem was
made over three thousand years ago, that there is no way something like how
people were in different classes would still be around today. That thought is
incorrect. Before this essay gets detailed with the Caste system is still here . It
would be best if we had gone over what he Caste system was and what it contained
