Objectives :- Definition of learning. Discuss the stages of learning. Enlist types of learners according to developmental stages. Discuss physical health . Discuss benefits of physical health. Role of physical health in learning. Discuss physical hazards that effect the health. Discuss emotional aspects that effect learning.
Definition of learning:- Learning is defined as change in behavior (knowledge, attitudes and skills)that can be observed and measured and that occur at any time or in any place resulting from exposure to environmental stimuli. Learning can also be defined as to acquire knowledge of subject or a skill through education or experience.
Stage1:-Unconscious Incompetence Lacking knowledge , skill and ability without conscious awareness. We do not know what we do because of lack of proficiency. In this stage:- We have little experience or skill. We are unaware of a deficiency of a subject or skill. We must become conscious of our incompetence before learning can begin and the new skill develop. We realize that by improving our skill or ability in this area our effectiveness will improve. We must make a commitment to learn and practice the new skill, and to move the conscious competence stage.
Stage2:- C onscious Incompetence As our awareness evolve into this stage, we begin to realize how little we know. I know what I don’t know. In this stage:- Awareness of a lack of knowledge, skill and ability. We realize that by improving our skill or ability in this area our effectiveness will improve. We must make a commitment to learn and practice the new skill , and to move to the conscious competence stage.
Stage 3:- Conscious Competence Deliberating application of knowledge, skill and ability. In this stage:- Our confidence increase with our ability. We need to concentrate and think in order to perform the skill. We can perform the skill without assistance. We realize how much we have learned.
Stage 4:-Unconscious competence Application of knowledge , skill and ability without conscious awareness. In this stage:- Our confidence and ability have peaked. We no longer have to concentrate on what we know We blend the skills together and they become habits. This is the stage when the skill become almost a habit, we are able to be successful without concentration and our conscious mind is free to take on other things.
Types of learners according to developmental stages There are three main stages of learners. Pedagogy:- The word comes from Greek and literally means to lead the children. It is generally considered the art and science of teaching children. Andragogy :- the art and science of helping adults to learn. This theory is based on six assumptions. Self-concept Experience Readiness to learn Orientation to learn Motivation to learn Need to know
Continuous…. Geragogy :- the teaching of older person is known as geragogy . In this age different types of issues occur that affect the learning. It include Reduced sensory perception Limited motor capabilities Changes in cognitive process
Physical Health Physical health is a state of physical wellbeing in which a person is physically fit to perform their daily activities without restriction. Importance of physical health:- Physical activity is crucial for students well-being enhancing both their health and academic performance. Develop student knowledge and practical skills necessary to enable a better quality of life. Increased students self-esteem and promotes informed decision making.

Role of physical health in learning The value of physical health helps them to develop into responsible individuals capable of making sound decisions about their health, safety, and well-being. Built self confidence Develops motor skills Health and nutrition Relives stress Enhance academic performance Can help us make new friends
Physical environmental hazards that effect learning Air pollution( air is polluted by respiration of man and animals, combustion of coal, gases, oil, decomposition of organic matter) Effects of air pollution:- Cough Difficulty breathing Asthma Chest pain Lung cancer Pneumonia

Emotional aspects that effect learning Emotional health :- A state of emotional and psychosocial wellbeing in which the individual is able to cope with normal stresses of life , work productively, and to make a contribution to his or her community. An emotionally healthy person is :- Open minded Open hearted Assertive Express emotions appropriatly
Emotional factors There are a number of positive and negative emotions that impact on our ability to perform effectively. The main emotions are:- Happiness Sadness Anger Fear Surprise Trust
