Her studies were published in the book “ The Social and Emotional Development of the Pre-school child”. In this book she discusses about her careful observation and the daily records of the emotional behaviour of 62 infants in the Montreal Founding and Baby Hospital over a period of 3 to 4 months.

CONCLUSION New born babies respond to stimuli with an undifferentiated general excitement by making eye contact and responding to voices. Until the age of 1, all emotions are connected with biological needs. As weeks and months go by, expressions get sharpen and the responses become more specific with the situations as their brain get matured. Gradually with increasing age, there is an increase in linguistic response and motor responses. 7
