1. IN THE STORMS OF LIFE Matthew 14:22-33 C hrist’s S ervants F ellowship – AG 5 October 2025

2. Mateo 14:22-27 MBB 22 Agad pinasakay ni Jesus sa bangka ang mga alagad at pinauna sa kabilang ibayo . Samantala , pinauwi naman niya ang mga tao . 23 Matapos niyang paalisin ang mga ito , mag- isa siyang umakyat sa bundok upang manalangin . Nag- iisa siyang inabutan doon ng gabi . 24 Samantala , ang bangka ay nasa laot na ngunit sinasalpok ito ng mga alon dahil pasalungat ito sa hangin .

3. 25 Nang madaling-araw na'y sumunod sa kanila si Jesus na naglalakad sa ibabaw ng tubig . 26 Kinilabutan sa takot ang mga alagad nang makita nilang may lumalakad sa ibabaw ng tubig . " Multo !" sigaw nila . 27 Ngunit nagsalita agad si Jesus at sinabi sa kanila , " Huwag kayong matakot , ako ito !" 28 Sinabi ni Pedro, " Panginoon , kung talagang ikaw nga iyan , hayaan mong ako'y pumunta sa iyong kinaroroonan diyan sa ibabaw ng tubig ." 29 Sumagot siya , " Halika ."

4. Mula sa bangka ay lumakad si Pedro sa ibabaw ng tubig papunta kay Jesus. 30 Ngunit nang mapansin niya na malakas ang hangin , siya'y natakot at nagsimulang lumubog . " Panginoon , sagipin ninyo ako !" sigaw niya . 31 Agad siyang inabot ni Jesus. " Bakit ka nag- alinlangan ? Napakaliit ng iyong pananampalataya !" sabi niya kay Pedro. 32 Pagkasakay nila sa bangka , tumigil ang hangin 33 at sinamba siya ng mga nasa bangka . " Tunay nga pong kayo ang Anak ng Diyos !" sabi nila .

5. INTRODUCTION Kumusta po kayo nitong nakaraang pagbagyo at paglindol ( sa Cebu)? Mag- ingat po tayo sa baha at iba pang dulot ng bagyo , m eron na namang parating na bago . Wala na ba itong katapusan ? Ano ang pwede / dapat nating gawin sa panahon ng “ bagyo sa buhay ”?

6. 1 . RECOGNIZE JESUS 25 Nang madaling-araw na'y sumunod sa kanila si Jesus na naglalakad sa ibabaw ng tubig . 26 Kinilabutan sa takot ang mga alagad nang makita nilang may lumalakad sa ibabaw ng tubig . " Multo !" sigaw nila . 27 Ngunit nagsalita agad si Jesus at sinabi sa kanila , " Huwag kayong matakot , ako ito !"

7. 1 . RECOGNIZE JESUS 1A. “Storms” blur our vision of Jesus they were terrified. "It's a ghost ," they said, and cried out in fear . (v. 25b) - they mistook Him as ghost - they became afraid of Him.

8. 1 . RECOGNIZE JESUS 1B. Storms dull our memory - they forgot their previous experience with Jesus in the storm 23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" 26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked , "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" (Matt. 8:23-27)

9. 2. CALL TO JESUS 28 Sinabi ni Pedro, " Panginoon , kung talagang ikaw nga iyan , hayaan mong ako'y pumunta sa iyong kinaroroonan diyan sa ibabaw ng tubig ." 29 Sumagot siya , " Halika ." Mula sa bangka ay lumakad si Pedro sa ibabaw ng tubig papunta kay Jesus. 30 Ngunit nang mapansin niya na malakas ang hangin,b siya'y natakot at nagsimulang lumubog . " Panginoon , sagipin ninyo ako !" sigaw niya .

10. 2. CALL TO JESUS 2A. Ask Him to allow you to come to Him "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, " tell me to come to you on the water." (v. 28) - w ait for His go signal - don’t get ahead of Him, don’t be presumptuous

11. 2. CALL TO JESUS 2B. Allow Him to come to you. (v. 25) About three o'clock in the morning Jesus came toward them , walking on the water . - Most of the time, it is Jesus who wants to come to us.

12. 3. SURRENDER TO JESUS 31 Agad siyang inabot ni Jesus. " Bakit ka nag- alinlangan ? Napakaliit ng iyong pananampalataya !" sabi niya kay Pedro. 32 Pagkasakay nila sa bangka , tumigil ang hangin 33 at sinamba siya ng mga nasa bangka . " Tunay nga pong kayo ang Anak ng Diyos !" sabi nila .

13. 3. SURRENDER TO JESUS 3A. Surrender our doubts and fear and exercise our faith in Him. - doubts and fear = little or no faith

14. 3. SURRENDER TO JESUS 3B. Surrender to Jesus means allowing Him to “climbed into the boat” - are you willing to hand over the “boat” to Jesus? - He wants to be the Captain, not just the passenger (see Matt. 8:23-27)

15. 3. SURRENDER TO JESUS 3B. Surrender to Jesus means allowing Him to “climbed into the boat” - when you come towards Jesus and away from your boat, the storm (wind and waves) is still raging. - when you allow Him to climb into the boat, that’s when the “wind will die down”, not before

16. CONCLUSION When the “storm of life ” comes and you were caught in it: - Know that Jesus is already on the way coming to rescue you. - Know that He “knows” what to do. - He allows us to go through the storm to learn new lessons.

17. CONCLUSION - Call to Him. He wants and expects us to come to Him. He wants us to. - Don’t just allow Him to climb into our boat, be also willing to surrender the rudder and control the boat. - After the “storm”, He expects us to worship Him!
