Dear Teacher,
From all the Richmond team we would like to transmit our hope that this Teacher’s
Resource Book helps you and your students to make the most of the GO! 5 project.
You will find the following three areas inside, each containing worksheets, their
corresponding answer key and where appropriate, the audio transcript. These
areas are designed to cover all the possible needs, queries or difficulties your
students may have.
Language:
The worksheets comprising this section focus on the vocabulary and structures
presented in the Student’s Book. You will find the most appropriate moment for
the students to work with the material indicated in the Teacher’s Book.
To help with the mixed ability in your class we have provided the worksheets
at three levels: the reinforcement worksheets have been created to ensure
that all students have an opportunity to assimilate the essential structures. The
consolidation worksheets will allow you to see how the students are progressing
with their learning. The extension worksheets are for those students who can go
a step further and may need the extra input to stimulate them. With these three
levels we give all the children the opportunity of extra practice and development.
CLIL:
In this section you will find more practice to help your students to understand the
broader topics covered in Lesson 4 of the Student’s Book. Through interesting
facts and details about the world and their environment, the children will take new
terminology on board effortlessly. All CLIL topics reflect areas that have been
covered in their equivalent school subject, thus making their comprehension easier
for the student.
Tests:
You will find four types of tests: a general diagnostic test, unit, term, and end of
year tests. This format allows you to choose the most appropriate time to gauge
the level of your students’ understanding and assimilation of new language.
The diagnostic test can be used both with new students and returning students
as an indication for the teacher of the class level after the long summer holidays.
The remaining tests are both varied and thorough and will consolidate the
language worksheets. The tests include work on the four basic skills and include
two different versions for the same unit based on level of difficulty in order to meet
the needs of your students.
Warm regards,
The Richmond editorial team

Earth is called the blue planet because 71% of it is covered in water.
There are five oceans, but when an ocean and land meet, we call it a sea. There are over 100
seas in the world, for example, the Mediterranean Sea between Europe, Africa and Asia and
the Caribbean Sea in America.
All oceans and seas are salty, especially the Dead Sea in Asia. It’s so salty no fish can live
there.
There are lots of areas of the oceans we don’t know about, but we know there are huge
mountains and volcanoes under the water.
1 The UK, Germany and France are part of this continent.

2 60% of the world’s population live here.
3 There are no cities or towns here, only scientific bases.

4 Did his documentaries use new technologies?
5 Did he film all his programmes in London?
6 Were his documentaries always about animals?
7 Did he film gorillas?
8 Was David’s brother older or younger than him?
David Attenborough
David Attenborough is famous for his stunning nature
documentaries.
When David was at school, he loved science and he
was also good at sport. As a boy, he collected fossils
and rocks. He was very hard-working and he loved
observing nature. He studied Natural Sciences at
Cambridge University.
After university, he joined the BBC and in 1954, he
presented his first nature documentary. In 1973, he
stopped working for the BBC and he created a
programme called Life on Earth. It was very successful,
millions of people watched and loved it.
After that series, he worked on and presented many
more documentaries, for example, Planet Earth and
Blue Planet. He introduced the viewers to many
different animals and always used new filming
technologies in his programmes. To make these
programmes, he travelled all over the world. He usually
created documentaries about animals, but he
sometimes talked about plants.
David loves his job and he loves nature. He really likes
baby animals, but he hates rats. His favourite
experience was when he filmed mountain gorillas in
Africa.
David’s older brother, Richard, was an actor and film
director. He played the grandfather in the Jurassic Park
films!

Teacher: Good morning, class. Let’s look at time zones today. The world has got twenty-four different time zones.
1
Girl: What time is it in China right now?
Teacher: Well, Asia is ahead of us. China is eight
hours ahead, so… it’s twenty-five past ten at night.
2
Boy: What about India? That’s in Asia too.
Teacher: That’s right. India is five and a half hours
ahead. That means it’s five to eight in the evening.
3
Girl: My dad is Mexican and America is behind.
When I’m having my tea in the afternoon, it’s only
a quarter to twelve in Mexico.
4
Boy: Brazil is in America too. Is it the same as
Mexico?
Teacher: No, it isn’t. For example, when we begin
Maths class today, it’s twenty to one in Rio!
5
Teacher: There are minimal time differences in
Europe. For example, when it’s ten to six in France,
it’s ten to six in most European countries.
6
Girl: And what about Japan in Asia, is it twelve
hours ahead too?
Teacher: No, it’s nine hours ahead. So it’s ten to
twelve there now.

Boy: Hi, Jasmine, can I ask you some questions about your activities, please? It’s for my homework. Jasmine: Yes, of course. Boy: OK, so, do you do any sports? Jasmine: Yes, I go to tennis practice at the sports centre on Saturdays. Boy: Only on Saturdays? Jasmine: That’s right. I play tennis every Saturday. Boy: And what about musical instruments, do you play any? Jasmine: Yes, I play the piano and the guitar. Boy: How often do you practise the guitar? Jasmine: I usually practise on Friday and Saturday. Boy: Now, do you like cooking? Jasmine: Yes, I love it! My brother and I do baking with our mum. Boy: How often do you do baking? Jasmine: Well, not very often, about… two Sundays every month. Boy: Have you got any pets? Jasmine: Yes, I’ve got a dog called Zack. Boy: Do you walk the dog? Jasmine: Yes, I always walk him in the morning before school. That’s my job at home. Boy: What about at the weekends? Jasmine: Yes, I walk the dog on school days and at the weekends too. Boy: How often do you visit your grandparents? Jasmine: Well, they live in Canada, so it’s difficult to see them regularly. But we always see them in the summer. Boy: So, you see your grandparents every summer? Jasmine: Yes, that’s right. Boy: Alright, and the last question is, how often do you watch TV? Jasmine: I don’t. I don’t like it. Boy: Really?! You don’t watch TV? Ever? Jasmine: No, no TV…

Potter films, they’re my favourite! I’m a massive
Harry Potter fan.
Teacher: And what genre is that?
Sam: It’s drama. Oh no, sorry, it’s fantasy.

boring.
Teacher: And now you, Eric.
Eric: Well, I like all kinds of films, I watch lots of
films with my family.

Eric: Well, I love laughing, so comedies are my

When I was at school, I was very quiet. I wasn’t talkative or funny. I wasn’t good at sports or Art and I was really bad at Maths. My teachers weren’t very happy with me… I was only interested in storybooks. There were hundreds of books in my bedroom. My favourite book was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and it’s still my favourite book today! My favourite part is when Charlie goes into the factory. There are hard-working little people in there called Oompa Loompas. There is a chocolate lake and a nut room with squirrels. There is a TV room and there are sweets everywhere!
Unit 6 Test
Listen and write one activity for each day.

Tom: Aah, it was a busy week! On Monday, I studied some Maths and Spanish. I used an app in my tablet to learn Japanese. On Tuesday, I designed a robotic car with my friends for our Science project. It was difficult,
but lots of fun! On Wednesday, our class visited a museum for our History topic. We watched a video about the Romans. On Thursday, I played a basketball match with my local team. Then I practised the piano for an hour. On Friday, I helped my parents at home. I cleaned the microwave and I used the washing machine. On Saturday, I practised speaking French with my mum. She lived in France when she was little. Then I watched a French film.

William: Hi, I’m William. I was very busy yesterday.
First, I washed my uniform in the washing machine.
Then I filled the dishwasher.
After that, I looked at some websites on my tablet.
The fourth thing I did was, I talked to a friend on my
mobile phone. I asked him lots of questions.
Then I installed a solar panel in my garden.
After that, I used a quadcopter to fly up and check
the solar panel looked OK.
I was hungry then! I cooked some food in the
microwave.
Finally, I played with the Rubik’s cube for a while
before I went to bed.
