‘bobbing’ etc.
 Write about the disastrous consequences of shipwreck.
Content analysis :- ‘A shipwrecked Sailor’ is written by the Columbian writer Gabriel Garcia
Marquez. The Story tells the Saga of Luis Alejandro Velasco, a twenty
year old Sailor, who was washed Over board during a storm in the
middle of the Carribean Sea. He lost all his friends in the Shipwreck.
Pre- requisites :- The Students
 Might be familiar with the stories of Same theme and Same author
 Might know the threatening consequences of a Ship wreck.
Teaching learning resources :- Course book, Source book, video clippings of various ship wrecks.

Teacher communicates with the students and

Entry activity
Teacher shows some video clippings of
shipwreck in the laptop and asks the students to write
about the consequences of Shipwreck.

Teacher introduces the Story ‘A Shipwrecked
Sailor’ by Gabrid Garcia Marquez. It Ps the Story of Luis
Alejandro velasco, a twenty year old Sailor who was
washed over board during a storm.

In the middle of the Carribean Sea. Let’s find
out what happened to velasco then.

Micro processing of input
Track reading
Teacher asks the Students to read the story
silently and keep track of their reading. They can put
‘√’ for the lines they understand ‘?’ for the lines they
don’t understand and ‘!’ for the lines which have any
surprising ideas.

Sharing with group
Teacher asks the Students to share their ideas
in groups. Teacher megaphones the doubts to the
whole class and helps them to understand the story.

the Students to prepare a caption for the picture in pairs.

At the time of shipwreck, there came some
Navy officials in order to Save the victims of Ship wreck.
In their search they forund velasco. Write down the
possible conversation betwen velasco and the navy
official in groups.

Editing
Teacher helps the students to make
necessary corrections.

Loud reading
Teacher makes one or two students to read
the story with correct stress, rhythm, intonation and
modulation of voice.

Review
Teacher makes one or two students to give
the summary of the passager that they have learnt.
