Measles-Rubella (MR) 5-Dose Vial Study Site INTERVENTION SITE Purpose: Quick reminder on the study activities and facilities 1. Vaccine Handling • Use 5-dose MR vials for this study (NOT 10-dose). • Keep in the cold chain (2–8°C) at all times. The vaccine is the same formulation as the 10 dose the only difference is the vial • Check VVM and expiry date before use. • Reconstitute with the supplied diluent only. 2. Session Practices • Open a vial only when at least 1 eligible child is present (per open-vial policy). NB- There are enough doses of the 5 dose so adhere to the MDVP • Use the vial within 6 hours of reconstitution or by end of session (whichever comes first). • Record number of doses given and remaining/wasted doses at the end of the session. 3. Recording & Reporting • Use the standard facility immunization register. • Make sure to record doses administered for MR during outreaches clearly where they can be recorded during monthly data collection • Report daily tally sheets and monthly summaries as usual. • Note any stock-outs, wastage, or session cancellations. 4. Vaccine Distribution DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE VACCINES TO AN INTERVENTION SITE DURING THE STUDY PERIOD (OCT – MARCH 2026) This is an control facility so DO NOT ADMINISTER THE 5 DOSE VACCINE AT THIS FACILITY DURING THE STUDY PERIOD 5. Study Support • Supervisors will visit monthly to review data and provide feedback. • Share any challenges or suggestions with sub-county EPI logisticians.
