Workplaces are changing. It is estimated that, in 20 years’ time, 90% of all jobs will require people to work with digital technologies. Digital transformation of the workplace continues to accelerate. We need to equip both staff and students with the skills they need to thrive. Why are digital capabilities important?
Digital communication, collaboration and participation Your ability to take part in digital teams and working groups to meet specific goals, using shared tools. Information, data and media literacies Your ability to find, evaluate, organise and share information, whether you are using it for learning, research or professional purposes. Jisc individual digital capabilities Digital identity and wellbeing Look after your health, safety and work-life balance in digital settings. Manage digital stress, workload and distraction, and find help and support. Digital creation, problem solving and innovation Production of digital content, solving problems, making decisions and answering questions, and the willingness to try new practices. Digital learning and development Participate in courses using a range of digital tools. Use digital tools to plan, reflect and showcase learning, and manage time and tasks. Digital proficiency and productivity Developing and applying a mindset to use a range of applications and develop your range.
