INTRODUCTION: Education owes its origin to the two latin words: “ Educare ” and Educe” “ Educare ” means- to nourish, to bring up, to raise, “Educe” means – bring forth, to lead out, to draw out The word education is derived from the latin word educare which means to lead out. Growth from the within. The root meaning of education can be given as manifestation of the inherent potentials in child. Education is the process of helping the child to adjust with this changing world.

3. Definitions: Education is development of all those capabilities in the individual, which will help him to control his environment and fulfill his possibilities. Meaning of education: Education modifies the behaviour . It brings such changes in the behaviour of a child, which is for his good. In the past the education of a child meant the filling up of the child’s mind with stuffed knowledge.
