1. Definition of Food Hygiene Food Hygiene refers to all the conditions and measures necessary to ensure the safety, wholesomeness, and suitability of food for human consumption from the point of production to consumption. According to the World Health Organization (WHO): “Food hygiene comprises all conditions and measures necessary to ensure the safety and suitability of food at all stages of the food chain.”
