18. Previously Office 365  was a suite of productivity applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, offered as a subscription service . Microsoft 365  was a broader brand encompassing Office 365 but also additional services like Windows 10 Enterprise, Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection, and others .

19. Now Microsoft 365 is the unified brand  for all these cloud-based productivity offerings, including the applications originally under Office 365 . Office 365 is no longer used as a separate brand  for the software suite. All the applications previously within Office 365 are now simply included under the Microsoft 365 umbrella .

20. DepEd Teachers who are already in service before 2020 should have 2-3 Microsoft 365 accounts given to them by the Department of Education. All of them are sent thru DepEd Email.

21. [email protected] DepEd Teachers who are already in service on or before December 2020 have received the email about the activation of Microsoft 365 Accounts on their respective DepEd emails. This account was also given to us after the Gsuites (Google Workspace) was given to us by DepEd . The subscription for this account has a lot of access on the productivity tools and office 365 applications (up to 5 computers) 1

22. [email protected] This Microsoft 365 Account is for the management of Microsoft 365 Accounts of Learners in your school. Activation for this accounts was received thru school DepEd Emails. The School ICT should always handling this Microsoft 365 Account. It can also use productivity tools and Office 365 applications (up to 5 computers) 2

23. [email protected] It was given to DepEd teachers because Department of Education has terminated their contracts to Google. It has the same domain with the Google Workspace Account of teachers. Teachers were also advised to migrate their accounts and files to Microsoft 365 Accounts. Teachers were also asked not to put unnecessary files on One Drive because of the Limited Storage Spaces for the whole Department. 3

48. How to activate your Microsoft 365 account? (for DepEd Microsoft Account Only)

49. 1. Find an email containing information about your username and temporary passwords. - All DepEd Teachers with Google Workspace Account before January 27, 2023 should have received this email and have activated it on or before the said date.

50. 2. Go to portal.office.com and use the username and temporary passwords to sign in. - Username have the same format with the Google Workspace Account of Teachers. - You may copy and paste the temporary passwords

51. 3. Set up your new password. - Passwords must contain letters, symbols, numbers. Sometimes it requires you to have both Capital and Lower Case Letters. - Creating passwords for Microsoft 365 is a bit troublesome because sometimes it doesn’t accept passwords containing specific words, months and name of person.

52. 4. Set up your password recovery e-mail and cellphone number. (Optional) - During this set up, you should have your phone besides you and your e-mail address is ready to received the Code for confirmation of the recovery email. - Only use cellphone numbers and emails that you use. Please be reminded that the recovery email you will use should be secure and safe.
