2. Introduction Common name: Iodine Symbol: I A non- metallic element Proved by : Dr. Hahnemann Preparation of Homeopathic Use.-One part by weight of resublimed iodine is dissolved in ninety-nine parts by weight of alcohol. Amount of drug power, 1/100.

3. Pathogenesis lodum especially acts on all the glandular system, lymph glands, thyroid, liver, spleen, breasts, ovaries, testes, salivary glands, etc. Mucus membrane of eyes, nose, respiratory tract and even blood vessels are not spared from its action. Blood vessels get constricted, capillary congestion followed by oedema, ecchymosis, haemorrhage , and nutritive disturbance Sluggish vital reaction, hence chronicity in many of its aspects .

4. Constitution Iod . individual is exceedingly thin, dark complexioned, with enlarged lymphatic glands, eyes with the low cachectic condition. Profound debility and general emaciation, overgrown body with hyper trophy and induration of glands .

5. Guiding Symptoms Rapid metabolism: Loss of flesh great appetite. Hungry with much thirst. Better after eating.  Great debility, the slightest effort induces perspiration. Very hot patient, rather he is the hottest patient

6. Guiding Systems All glands of the body are hypertrophied and enlarged except the mammary gland. Enlarged thyroid Goitre with sensation of constriction. Sub maxillary glands are swollen. Tincture internally and locally to swollen glands and rattlesnake bites .

7. Guiding Symptoms Profound debility and loss of breath on going upstairs All the symptoms are worse from warmth in general and better from cold in general The discharges of Iodine are acrid.The discharges from the nose excoriate the lip, the discharges from the eyes excoriate the cheek, the discharges from the vagina excoriate the thighs.

8. Mind Anxiety when quiet with depression. Restless agitation. Sudden impulse to run and do violence. While attempting to keep still, he is overwhelmed with impulses, impulses to tear things, to kill himself, to commit murder, to do violence.
