Proper adjective Proper adjective: are those which are taken from proper noun. Ex: Afghanistan Afghani Ex: America American Ex: England English Ex: Africa African EX I bought Afghani car. 2
Quality adjective Quality adjective: Are those Which are used to describe the quality of noun either positive or negative. Some quality adjective are here: (Good, bad, intelligent, lazy, beautiful, Ugly, expensive, tall, nice, ) EX: he is an intelligent student. 3
Adjective of quantity Adjective of quantity: shows how much of thing is meant or show the indefinite Quality of the nouns is called quantity adjective. They are: some, any, none, of, much, little, a little, a few, many, no. EX: the student need many chairs. EX: I have no books. EX: they have enough money to buy something. 4
Demonstrative adjective Demonstrative adjective: are those are used before nouns and point out some persons, places and things. They are consist in:(this, that, these, those) EX: That boy is tall. 5
Possessive adjective Possessive adjective: Are those Which are used before nouns and show possessive or ownership. They are consist in: ( my, his, her, its, our, your, their). EX: she reads her books. EX: they play cricket whit their friends. Note: nouns can use after possessive adjective but nouns can’t use after possessive pronoun. EX: those are my books. EX: that is their car. 6
Interrogative adjective Interrogative adjective: Are those Which are used to interrogate or ask about noun or pronoun. They are consist in: ( what, which, whose) EX: which month are you in? EX: what do you eat? EX: whose chair is this? Note: what is the difference between interrogative (p) and interrogate(Adj) Response: interrogative adjective is used before noun but interrogative pronoun is used before verb. EX: which class are you in? (I-adj) Ex: whose book is this? (I-pr) EX: what did you buy? ( I-p) whose book is this? ( I-adj) 7
Distributive adjective Distributive adjective: Are those which are used to modify noun or pronoun individually. They are consist in: ( each, every, other, any, either) Ex: she has three books; each has 30 pages. ( Distributive pronoun) EX: I have two brothers either brother is tall. ( Distributive adjective) EX: I have three brothers either is lazy. ( Distributive pronoun) Note: what is the contrast between Distributive adjective and Distributive pronoun ? Distributive adjective is used before noun and Distributive pronoun is used before verb or auxiliary. 8
Adjective of number(Numeral) Adjective of number(Numeral): are those which are used to ask the number of things or people and usually answer the question of ( how many). 9
