2. An information technology project. Under the Department of General and Higher Education of Kerala. Launched in 2001. Headquarter - Trivandrum A im : T o f os t e r I C T (I n f o r ma ti o n an d Commun i ca ti on s Techno l ogy ) enabled education in schools.

3. The first breakthrough of this project came in 2005, when IT was made a compulsory subject in school. Th e t a r ge t e d g r ou p o f t h is p r o j ec t is t h e dynam ic g r ou p o f s t uden t s , teachers and parents, but primarily the students. Enhances the role of IT as a teaching aid for learning all subjects. 5. It also conducts specialized training for visually challenged teachers in the state. In association with BSNL, the project provide internet broadband connectivity to all high schools in Kerala. During 2007-2012, IT@SCHOOL provided ICT infrastructure to 4071 schools. In 2016, it reinitiated the ICT intervention in Lower Primary and Upper Primary sections, by launching exclusive ICT textbooks viz; Kalipetti and e@vidya .

6. Almost 1.5 lakhs teachers from std 1 to 12 have been enhanced with ICT skills, making them to teach effectively with ICT tools. Through ‘Hi school kuttikoottam’ programme, launched by IT@SCHOOL, over one lakh students are provided with trainings in five different areas like animation, cyber safety, hardware, electronic and Malayalam computing. Provide computer handling training to teachers. Enhanced the unique scheme for the electrification of classrooms.
