Morphology It is an erect, annual herb and 30-90 cm tall with upper part of stem quadrangular while the lower part nearly rounded stem Leaves are opposite sessile or subsessile , linear- lanceolateor lanceolate , 3-8 cm long, acute, glabrous or minutely puberulous beneath and base cuneate , margin slightly undulate. The small flowers are pink, solitary, arranged in lax spreading racemes or panicles . The fruit is a capsule around 2 cm (0.79 in) long and a few millimeters wide. [4] It contains many yellow-brown seeds. The seeds are subquadrate , rugose and glabrous .

MORPHOLOGY It is known as the kamala tree or red kamala or kumkum tree, due to the fruit covering, which produces a red dye A bush to small or medium-sized tree, up to 25 metres tall and a trunk diameter of 40 cm. The trunk is fluted and irregular at the base. Small branches are greyish brown in colour , with rusty covered small hairs towards the end. Leaves are opposite on the stem, ovate to oblong in shape. The upper surface is green without hairs, the underside pale grey in colour .
MORPHOLOGY Yellow-brown flowers form on racemes . Racemes up to 6 cm long. Male and female flowers grow on separate trees . The fruit is a three lobed capsule, 6 to 9 mm broad, covered in red powdery substance . The fruit hairs are called Kampillaka rajas

MORPHOLOGY It is a small to medium-sized tree growing to 10–12 metres . The leaves are 10–20 centimetres (3.9–7.9 in) obcordate shaped, long and broad, rounded, and bilobed at the base and apex. The flowers are conspicuous, bright pink or white with five petals. the fruit is a seedpod 15–30 centimetres long, containing several seeds .
