Introduction Of Labour Welfare Policies Labour welfare measures are an effort towards relieving the industrial worker of his worries and making him happy. It is generally agreed that labour is an underprivileged section of our society. Anything done towards the well being of labour force comes under the purview of labour welfare. “As a matter of fact the whole field of welfare is one in which much can be done to combat the sense of frustration of the industrial worker, to bring about maximum satisfaction, to relieve him of personal and family worries, to afford him a means of sphere in which he can excel all others to help him to wider conception of life”. On fulfillment of the basic needs of labour, considered as human being, the labour welfare gives satisfaction to the workers to the extent that even good pay packets cannot do to them.
Definition's of Labour Welfare 1. The oxford Dictionary defines Labour Welfare as “efforts to make life worth living for workmen”. 2. Chamber’s dictionary defines welfare as a “state of faring or doing well; freedom from calamity, enjoyment of health, prosperity, etc”. 3. According to HRM “ Labour welfare or Employee welfare is a comprehensive term including various services, benefits and facilities offered to employees by the employer. The basic purpose of labour welfare is to enrich the life of employees and keep them happy and contented. Better working conditions and welfare measures enhance the motivations and efficiency of employees. The main objective is to make the worker happy, healthy, committed and loyal”.

Objectives Of Welfare Measures 1. To combat trade unionism and social ideas. 2. To build up stable labour force, to reduce labour turnover and absenteeism. 3. To develop efficiency and productivity among workers. 4. To save oneself from heavy takes on surplus profits. 5. To earn goodwill and enhance public image. 6. To reduce the threat of further government intervention. 7. To make recruitment more effective because these benefit add to job appeal.
Review Of Literature Finger (2019 ), says that that it is possible to improve the morale and spirit of employees by addressing moral issues. Measures to protect workers includes housing, medical, recreational, library facilities, among others with the hope of making a profit & increases the satisfaction level of an employee. Lalitha and Priyanka (2020) ideated that the welfare measures need not be in monetary terms only but in any kind/forms. Employee welfare includes monitoring of working conditions, creation of industrial harmony through infrastructure for healthiness, developed relations and insurance against illness, accident and joblessness for the workers and their families. Robinson , Clegg, and Birdi (2021) in a study identified the key behavior, which were found to be associated with employee engagement. The behavior included belief in the organization, desire to work to make things better, accepting of the business context and the „superior picture.
S.k.Srivastra (2022) in a study on “Impact of labour welfare on employee attitudes and job satisfaction”, found that, if the management goes on working for welfare of labour, the labourers feel satisfied with their job and the get the motivation towards their work. For the study two hundred workers were selected from private and public sector with the help of incidental sampling method and both the sectors have been taken from Kanpur city. Further the result of the study indicated that welfare activities/facilities affect the workers attitude towards management and job satisfaction in both sectors. Mr . Ravi Kumar (2022) “Welfare includes anything that is done for the comfort and improvement of employees and is provided over and above the wages. Welfare helps in keeping the morale and motivation of the employees high so as to retain the employees for longer duration”. The welfare measures need not be in monetary terms only but in any kind/forms. Employee welfare includes monitoring of working conditions, creation of industrial harmony through infrastructure for health,insurance against disease, accident and unemployment for the workers and their families.
Mr . R. Pradeep (2023) “Employee welfare is a comprehensive term including various services, benefits and facilities offered to employees & by the employers. Through such generous fringe benefits the employer makes life worth living for employees .”Welfare includes anything that is done for the comfort and improvement of employees.
Research Gap The topic selected for the study is “Human Resources Management”. The main theme of the project is the analysis and interpretation of practices of the labour welfare. As per the review of literature, few studies are conducted regarding the lack of labour welfare on employees satisfaction and employee retention level. So in this study focus on to find out the awareness level of labour welfare policies and implementation in the Hoping Minds. Also study the impact of labour welfare on employee satisfaction and retention in Hoping minds.
Objective of the study 1. To find out the satisfaction level of employee about labour welfare. 2. Labour welfare and their impact on employee retention. 3. To analyze the implementation of labour welfare policies.
Research Methodlogy RESEARCH METHODLOGY: Research methodology is the specific procedures or techniques used to identify select, process and analyze information about a topic. In a research paper, the methodology section allows the reader to critically evaluate a study’s overall validity and reliability. RESEARCH DESIGN: Research design is structured framework that serves as a blueprint for conducting investigation and gathering data to effectively address research questions and hypotheses. It outlines the methods, procedures, and techniques to be employed, ensuring the study’s validity. In other words, research design is a strategy for using empirical data to answer research questions. This research is descriptive in nature, aiming to accurately and systematically describe a population, situation, or phenomenon.
SAMPLE DESIGN : 1. Universe: The universe typically refers to the entire to the population or set of elements that are being studied or analyzed within a particular context. The study focused on individual from various organizations, constituting the universe under examination. 2. Sample Size: Sample size refers to the number of individual units included in a study or survey. The survey was carried out of around 50 respondents. 3. Sample Unit: It indicates who is to be surveyed. In this study, employees of the organization i.e., Hoping Minds Ltd. Chandigarh, were the sampling units. 4. Sampling Techniques: A convenience sampling technique was being used. METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION: 1. Primary Data: In this study, primary data serve as the backbone, being original in character and collected for the first time. The data obtained from respondents using a widely recognized method: a structured questionnaire, comprising 25 questions. Through this questionnaire, comprehensive insights were directly gathered from the individuals involved, forming the basis for understanding employee perspective and contributing significantly to the study’s foundation.
2. Secondary Data: Researcher has also gathered secondary data which have already been collected and analyzed by someone else. He got various information from journals, historical documents, magazines and websites prepared by the other researchers. For the present piece of research the investigator has used the following methods.

Findings of the study 1. It should be, regarding awareness the 40% employees are aware the labour policies and 60% employees are unaware the labour policies. 2. It should be, regarding effectiveness the labour policies are 30% effect the employees and 70% are not effect. 3. It should be, regarding information the 24% employees know the policies and 76% employees do not know. 4. It should be, regarding communication the 20% employees are agree and 80% employees are disagree. 5. It should be, regarding adequately the 30% employees address the needs our organization and 70% employees are not address the needs. 6. It should be, regarding feedback 20% employees are positively feedback regarding labour welfare policies and 80% employees are negative feedback regarding policies. 7.It should be, regarding benefit the 44% employees are agree because the organization provide benefits and 56% employees are disagree. 8. It should be, regarding impact the 10% impact positively the work life balance of employees and 90% impact negative the work life balance of employees. 9. Conclusion of the study CONCLUSION: 1. Based on the study of Employees Welfare Measures in Hoping Minds ,it is clear that the company is very keen in the promoting all the welfare measures providing by Hoping Mind. 2. The objective of this study is achieved in finding the satisfactory level and workers opinion towards the management attitude. 3. From the critical analysis it was found that the employees were highly satisfied with the working environment, first-Aid facility. The employees were satisfied with the other all facility provided by the organization. 4. Employee welfare refers to the taking care of the wellbeing of the workers by the employers, government, trade unions. With the recognition that workers have a unique place in the society and doing well for them retaining and motivating them to decrease the social evils. 5. The project was basically done to find out satisfaction level of workers regarding the welfare measures provided to them, with this also company aware about the employee’s dissatisfaction with some welfare measures and give them supervisor suggestions to it. 6. Employee welfare measures are advocated to maintain the manpower both physically and mentally. The study shows that there is ‘clustering of respondents’ opinion in the satisfactory region regarding the level of satisfaction of welfare measures. This says that the majority of workers are satisfied with welfare measures .
