Learning corners

The webinar will help Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) practitioners, to get an insight into how to make effective learning corners. It also discusses the required material that can be developed or used for these corners.

2. Learning corner is a physical area (or station) designated for specific learning purposes. It is designed to provide appropriate materials to help students work independently or collaboratively (with partners or in small groups) to meet set goals. Philosophy of Learning Corners Learning Corners is based on the child-centered approach to teaching young children that draws from Montessori tradition.(Build concentration, encourage independent, promote investigation learning style) I t gives children the freedom to choose what to do. P romotes socialization in learning.

Music and Movement Music and movement are the building blocks of any good preschool education Many physical skills can also be developed through the use of music such as gross motor, fine motor, balance, and bi-lateral coordination. Music can also help children develop cognitive skills including counting, patterning and sequencing, receptive language, phonemic awareness and many more. Music can help young children develop social-emotional skills such as self-regulation, self-esteem, and turn-taking.
