Learning corner is a physical area (or station) designated for specific learning purposes. It is designed to provide appropriate materials to help students work independently or collaboratively (with partners or in small groups) to meet set goals. Learning corners can be portable, temporary or permanent. What is Learning Corner

Philosophy of Learning Corners Learning Corners is based on the child-centered approach to teaching young children that draws from Montessori tradition.(Build concentration, encourage independent, promote investigation learning style) I t gives children the freedom to choose what to do. P romotes socialization in learning.

Why Learning Corners Children learn best when they involve in hands-on activities and play. Learning corners play vital role in providing an environment that convey a joy of learning Learning corners provide opportunities to children to choose, play, experiment and explore materials. Learning corners allow children to use up excess energy and take risk without fear of failure

Music and Movement Music and movement are the building blocks of any good preschool education Many physical skills can also be developed through the use of music such as gross motor, fine motor, balance, and bi-lateral coordination. Music can also help children develop cognitive skills including counting, patterning and sequencing, receptive language, phonemic awareness and many more. Music can help young children develop social-emotional skills such as self-regulation, self-esteem, and turn-taking.

Dramatic Play Corner

Dramatic Play Corner Dramatic play encourages languages development, used to introduce new concept Teaches conflict resolution and relieve emotional stress and empower children. A llows children to rehearse or practice new situations or events. Children are able to express themselves, be creative, develop their imaginations, and try out new tools as they play. It is a great way to build cooperation and communication between children and building language arts, math, reading, writing, social skills, fine motor and gross motor skills. Literacy Corner Literacy Rich environment encourage literacy interest in children at a very young age. Creating a literate environment for children is one of the ways in which we can build this strong foundation for literacy. Provide opportunities to explore and use literacy through their daily routines and play. Refine communication skills during activities when they describe, explain, and use words/sentence Begin to understand the mechanics of written language.
