In the pre-revolutionary region, medical care of the population was carried out in a few hospitals and outpatient clinics. In 1913 only 244 doctors and 393 paramedics worked on the entire vast territory of the republic. There were 1800 hospital beds. Difficult living conditions, epidemics, and an almost complete lack of medical care have tragically affected the fate of the indigenous population . 1.Rocky start

6. 2.First national commissar of public health care Shamov Mikhail He grew up in a workingclass family in Sevastopol. After graduating from the Medical Faculty of Kharkiv University in 1914 he worked as a regimental doctor of the Tsarist army in Georgia. Since 1920 till 1928 was People 's Commissariat of Health of KASSR. Shamov has done a lot of work on the organization and training of medical personnel especially from the local population. 7. Vice of national commissar of public health care Chumbalov Majit Mukhametzhanovich (1873-1940) 03/08/20ГГ НАБОР СЛАЙДОВ ДЛЯ ПРЕЗЕНТАЦИИ 7 He finished medical faculty in Kazan in 1899. In the 1929-1938 he headed republican board of drug-stores and then he was head of anti plague station in Uralsk. In 1908 Dr. Mazhit headed the first anti-plague laboratory in Kazakhstan in Urda villag e . In the fight against the plague he focused on sanitary and educational work among nomads traveled to villages, explained how to prevent infection and spread of the plague i.e isolate patients and boil laundry .
