AUTONOMOUS SCHOOL - were established in 1994 to provide pupils with quality education within the framework of a non-independent status but with greater autonomy devolved to the schools - give parents more options in the choice of quality schools for their children - more innovative curriculum as well as a more varied and wider range of enrichment programmes - able to provide a well-rounded quality education that stretches each student to his fullest potential - offer a much-enhanced teaching and learning environment to their students

LEGAL BASIS The State recognizes the complementary roles of public and private institutions in the educational system and shall exercise reasonable supervision and regulation of all educational institutions. -educational institutions that meets the requirements for autonomy shall be vested the authority to run the institution by themselves provided that they still champion the quality of education that they need to give Art. XIV, SECT. 4 OF 1987 PHIL. CONSTITUTION
LEGAL BASIS The State shall likewise ensure and protect academic freedom and shall promote its exercise and observance for the continuing intellectual growth, the advancement of learning and research, the development of responsible and effective leadership… -allowing recognizable institutions to be given the authority to lead themselves; however, the charters of the institution, its rules and regulations should still be aligned to national regulations RA 7722 OR THE HIGHER EDUCATION ACT OF 1994
LEGAL BASIS POLICY-STANDARD TO ENHANCE QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) IN PHILIPPINE HIGHER EDUCATION THROUGH AN OUTCOMESBASED AND TYPOLOGY-BASED QA -private and public higher educational institutions undergo quality assurance to determine how education, research, and extension programs are implemented in these schools as such they are being classified vertically as either Autonomous HEIs , Deregulated HEIs , or Regulated HEIs CMO #46 S. 2012
