Title : Waves Lesson objectives Must be able to understand what is wave, types of waves and transfer of energy without matter. Lesson goals I can define what is wave ? I can prove how waves are produced ? I can demonstrate different types of waves and I can predict outcome. Starter Correct the mistake task and go through the answers Scaffolder practice ( You do ) Students will demonstrate waves using slinky spring then they will write the answers of the questions as a group task. I will move around and will be monitoring the task, help them and correcting their answers. Instruction and Modelling (I do/We do) Start with the introduction to W aves, Explain different types of waves , Demonstrate waves phenomena using slinky spring and a bowl of water and making sounds. Lesson Plan Vocabulary Water W aves, Light Waves , Sound waves , Transverse and longitudinal Waves , Pulses Checking for understanding Assessment Worksheet will be given to check the understanding of the students group wise. Students will move around at the end to discuss their answers with peers Plenary Exit Ticket ..Students will answer the question at the end..Self mark Extension Task Short quiz will be taken individually while making students to sit in rows and will be marked next day to save the result as a record.

Title Lesson objectives: Introduction to waves Types of wave Waves demonstration using slinky spring What are we learning today… Zeeshan Abid

Lesson Goals At the end of the lesson, You will be able to …..Explain what is wave and types of waves …..Demonstrate how waves are produced …..Explain how waves transfer energy without matter

Vocabulary Water Waves Light Waves Sound waves Transverse and longitudinal Waves(Just Intro) Pulses

Introduction: Write down a short paragraph about all the different kinds of waves you know . Starter

Waves Read a short paragraph and answer the questions given at the end:

Waves Read a short paragraph and answer the questions given at the end: The birth of a wave starts with a vibration . Energy is supplied to the medium(The material through which waves travels) and particles of the medium bump , push or pull against one another . These vibrations transfer the energy from one place to another . Although the particles move back and forth , up and down or move around in circles. They don’t actually change locations . Its the only energy that transfer so far from one end to the other end. Starter

Waves Read a short paragraph and answer the questions given at the end: 1.How the waves are produced ? 2.How will you define medium? 3.Do the particles moves in the direction of wave ? Starter Questions

STARTER ACTIVITY ANSWERS Read a short paragraph and answer the questions given at the end: 1.How the waves are produced ? Ans : Due to vibration produced in a medium 2.How will you define medium? Ans :The material which through which waves travels 3.Do the particles moves in the direction of wave ? Ans :No. They just vibrates Build (We Do)

Waves! What is a wave? Name the different types of wave use observe in this classroom. Describe what happens when water waves hit a barrier. Describe what happens when waves Combines Keywords: Vibration Crest Trough The Essential Questions

Waves! What is a wave? A disturbance that transfers energy . Name two types of wave you observe in this classroom. Sound and Light Describe what happens when water waves hit a barrier. It transfers energy Describe what happens when waves Combines ? If waves are in same direction then speed increases and in opposite direction speed decreases The Essential Answers
