ATHLETICS- BRIEF HISTORY Is composed of sports involving running, walking ,jumping and throwing . In 776 B.C, Greeks started to promote track and field it opened the Olympic Game . Track and Field was introduced to the Filipino by the Americans . It was warmly accepted as one of the events for competition.

THE ATHLETICS PLAYING VENUE Running events are played in an OVAL . It has 8 lanes and the inner most lane measures 400 meters . The 7 other lanes are appropriately marked to indicate the 400- meter distance and the exceeding land measurements.

JUMPING EVENTS LONG JUMP HIGH JUMP TRIPLE JUMP POLE VAULT
HIGH JUMP The athlete must run in the start and must jump over a bar without knocking it over. High jump is a track-and-field competition in which athletes attempt to complete the highest jump over a crossbar .
LONG JUMP It is least complicated of all field events. It is formerly called broad jumping .Jumpers make their approach down the runway at almost top speed. Energy
