5. White Hat  ethical hackers  the good guys of the hacker world  help you remove viruses They hack with a good purpose or reason They hack with permission

6. Black Hat The “CRACKERS” The bad guys They hack with bad purpose or reason They hack without permission They vandalize and destroys the victims account or website

7. Grey Hat They don’t steal information or money  they may sometimes deface a website for fun  they spend most of their time just playing around with systems without doing anything harmful

8.  Red Hat  the vigilantes of the hacker world

9. Blue Hat seek vengeance on anyone who has made them angry they have no desire to learn

10.  Green Hat  the babies of the hacker world they have aspirations of becoming full blown hackers They are often found asking questions of fellow hackers and listening with childlike curiosity
