I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
A. Knowledge
Identify and classify the various art forms found in the Philippines such as visual arts, performing arts,
and literary arts.
Describe the origin, characteristics, and cultural importance of regional art forms from Luzon, Visayas,
and Mindanao.
B. Skills
Categorize Philippine art forms based on region and type through a classification activity.
Create a promotional output (poster or presentation) that highlights and promotes a specific regional art
form.
C. Attitude
Show appreciation and respect for the diversity of Philippine art forms.
Participate actively and respectfully in collaborative tasks and discussions about Filipino cultural
heritage.
D. Values
Develop pride in Filipino cultural identity through understanding and promoting local art.
Advocate for the preservation and promotion of indigenous and regional art forms.
II. LEARNING ACTIVITIES
A. Introductory Activity
Show a short video or slideshow presenting various traditional and modern Philippine art forms (e.g.,
T’nalak weaving, Singkil dance, Pahiyas décor).
Ask guide questions:
o“Which of these art forms are familiar to you?”
o“What do these art forms tell us about the region they come from?”
Write the question “Why is it important to promote our local arts?” on the board to guide the lesson.

B. Activity / Strategy
Group Task: Divide the class into three groups (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao).
Give each group flashcards or photos of different art forms.
Learners will classify each into Visual Arts, Performing Arts, or Literary Arts, and identify the
region where it originated.
Each group presents their work using a chart or manila paper.
C. Analysis
Ask students to reflect on the following questions:
o“What patterns did you observe in the art forms per region?”
o“What makes each regional art form unique?”
o“How does culture influence the kind of art people create?”
o“Which art form would you like to learn more about? Why?”
D. Abstraction
The teacher summarizes the key learning points:
oArt forms are shaped by history, environment, and local traditions.
oFilipino arts are classified into Visual (painting, weaving, architecture), Performing (dance,
music, theater), and Literary (chants, epics, poetry).
oEach region has unique expressions of these categories, contributing to Filipino cultural identity.

Learners individually create a mini-poster or digital slide to promote a regional art form of their choice.
The output should include:
