Common Appeals Used in Advertising
Performance Task Create an Advertisement for Your Original Product Your task is to create an original advertisement for a product that you invent. The product can belong to any of the following categories or anything in between: Devices/Gadget/Appliances Food Apparel or Clothing Jewelry or Accessories Health, Medical, and Beauty Products
Performance Task Your advertisement must effectively promote your product and persuade your target audience to purchase it. You can choose one of the following formats: Video Advertisement (30–60 seconds) Digital Poster Advertisement
Performance Task 1. Original Product Come up with a creative and unique product. Your product should address a specific problem or need for your target audience. 2. Target Audience Identify and define the audience for your product (e.g., teenagers, professionals, parents). Tailor your advertisement to appeal to this group.
Performance Task 3. Content Requirements Include a catchy slogan or tagline. Highlight the features and benefits of your product. Use persuasive techniques (e.g., emotional appeal, bandwagon effect, testimonials). Ensure your advertisement is appropriate, engaging, and creative.
Performance Task 4. Format Options Video Advertisement Length: 30–60 seconds. Use visuals, music, voiceovers, or text. Digital Poster Create a high-quality digital design. Include visuals, product name, slogan, and persuasive text.
Performance Task 5. Submission Details Video Ad: Submit the video file or upload it to a designated platform and provide the link. Digital Poster: Submit the poster in JPEG or PDF format. Submit until January 20, 2025 via the Google Drive Link that I will provide.
Grading Criteria Creativity and Originality (20%): Is the product unique and innovative? Persuasiveness (20%): Does the ad effectively convince the audience to buy the product? Content (20%): Are the product features, benefits, and slogan clear and compelling? Visual and Technical Quality (20%): Is the ad visually appealing and polished? Adherence to Guidelines (20%): Does the ad follow the instructions and format requirements?
