INTRODUCTION “A teacher's plan for teaching an individual lesson.” It helps the teacher to know what to do in class (prepared by them) with quite specific activities. It serve as the “blue print” and “bible” of the teacher and the teaching learning process.

DEFINE/ MEANING “It is a plan of action of a teacher, which includes the working philosophy of teacher, his /her knowledge, information about & understanding of his /her students, her/his comprehension of the objective of education, her knowledge of the material to be taught, her ability to utilize effective method.” -According to L.B Sands “Lesson plan is a teaching tool, that helps the teachers in deciding what to teach, that helps the teachers in deciding what to teach, why to teach, when to teach and how to teach in classroom while teaching.”

“It is the core & heart effective teaching where the teacher’s mental and emotional visualization of the class room experience as his plan is to occur.” “It is a plan prepared by a teacher to teach the lesson in an organized manner.”

A lesson plan is a plan of action, it includes:

NEEDS Ensure Definite Objective Definite outcome of teaching learning process. Enables to teach & adopt effective method of teaching. Enables evolution in the teaching session. Help to review subject & give up to date knowledge.

Continue… Clarify ideas. Maintains students interest. Avoids needless repetition . Stimulates the teacher to think of selected material, illustrations & A.V. AIDS to make more relevant, lively meaningful, effective & inspirational.
