Lesson: 1 Week: 1 Day : Tuesday Date: 21 March, 2023 Time : 9.45 am - 10.45 am Class : 5 Amanah Subject : English language Theme: Word of Self, Family and Friends Topic : UNIT 7 : GROWING UP Language Focus : Grammar Skills Main: Reading Complementary: Language Arts Content Standard: 3.2 Understand a variety of linear and non-linear print and digital texts by using appropriate reading strategies 5.3 Express an imaginative response to literary texts Learning standard: 3.2.1 Understand the main idea of simple texts of one or two paragraphs 5.2.1 Explain in simple language why they like or dislike an event, description or character in a text Objectives By the end of the lesson some pupils will be able: listen and identify the sounds. By the end of the lesson some pupils will be able to: describe the words. Success Criteria/ Can do statements 1. Pupils able to listen and identify at least 4 sounds correctly. 2. Pupils able to describe at least 3 words correctly. 3.   Pre Lesson LEARNING OUTLINES: Teacher plays a You Tube video on famous people. After they watch the students guess who are the famous people. E xample : Messi & Ronaldo.. Teacher writes the names on the white board and asks pupils how they would describe about these two players. Teacher gives some examples such as Messi as brown hair, handsome…. Volunteers can come to the front to write the adjectives.  

4. Lesson Development   1. Teacher projects the power point to explain physical appearance of a person. (PPT) 2. Next teacher assign students in pairs. 3.Teacher conduct Quizizz in the class. 3. Pupils refer to Activity 3. Teacher explains that pupils listen and identify the word with a different sound. 4. Audio 2.22 is played. Pupils listen and identify the words. 5. In group of 5 pupils are ask to identify the words that describe them the best. 5. Pupils write down 2 sentences describing themselves.  

5. Post Lesson   Post-lesson: Teacher asks pupils to think of the websites or apps that they have used. Pupils share the kind avatars they like with their friends in google classroom.    

6. Assessment Task Reflection: Attendance / Main Skill The number that achieved the stipulated skill is : Non-achievers were given extra guidance/enrichments/consolidation by teacher. Complementary Skill The number that achieved the stipulated skill is : Non-achievers were given extra guidance/enrichments/consolidation by teacher. Remarks The lesson was carried out successfully. The lesson was postponed due to meeting/ briefing/CRK/public holidays/school programme .
