TOPIC: DISASTER MANAGMENT CLASS: 8 TH SUBJECT: SOCIAL SCIENCE METHOD: 5E MODEL BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES : After the completion of the lesson, the learner will be able to achieve the following objectives. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Students will be able to define the term Disasters . Students will be able to define the natural and man - made Disasters. Students will be able to differentiate the natural and man - made Disasters.
MATERIALS NEEDED: Pictures of Disasters. Picture of natural and man - made Disasters. Pre- REQUISITE : The students are already familiar with different situations in the disasters. Stage 1 ENGAGE The Teacher divides the students into two groups and asks them to name the disasters which occur become of human activities or ignorance and the name of natural disasters afterwards the leaders of both the group read out what their groups have identified and write them on the chalkboard. Both the groups discuss about their name of man-made and natural disasters.
Stage 2 Explore Based on the discussion, teacher show the pictures related to man made and natural disasters and asks the following questions. Teacher’s Activites Learning Activities What this picture is related with? Teacher show the picture of natural disaster and ask them to identify the picture. Teacher show the picture of man-made disaster and ask question. What do you mean by an disasters. Disasters Natural disaster Man-made disaster It is a natural or man made event which results in great damage or loss of life.
Announcement of the topic: After having the above discussion with the learners, the teacher announces that today let us discuss and learn natural and man- made disasters. Stage 3 Explain Next, the teacher shows the two pictures related with disasters. Based on the pictures, the teacher asks the following question:

TEACHER WILL ASK FOLLOWING QUESTIONS TO STUDENTS What do you observe in the pictures? Name the man-made disasters. Name the natural disasters. Teacher ask to give example of any natural disaster with discuss students give example of River Brahmaputra outflows during monsoon and also discuss the responsibilities of government and non- governmental agencies. Recovery and reconstruction roads, houses, hospital etc.
