The basic life process- -nutrition & digestion -breathing & respiration -transportation -lymphatic system -excretion
The characteristics of living things Living thing can crawl, move from place to place. Living thing intake food, breathe air & drink water. Living thing can grow & develop. Living thing responds to stimuli. Living thing can breathe & respire to release energy. Living thing excrete to get rid of waste. Living thing produce their young ones.
What is life process???? The basic essential and necessary function performed by living organism to maintain their life on earth are called life processes .
nutrition Nutrition is a biochemical process of taking in food and utilizing it to build and maintain life. nutrient- It is a substance which an organism obtain from surrounding and uses it for biosynthesis of its body constituent. Categories of nutrient Macronutrients: 1- carbohydrate- instant source of energy. 2- proteins- building block of life. 3- fats- stored form of energy. Micronutrients: 4- minerals- help in formation of bones & teeth. 5- vitamins – protecting & shielding unit of life.
modes of nutrition autotropic- (auto-self, trophe -nutrition) those organism which synthesize their food from simple inorganic material in presence of sunlight and chlorophyll. Example- cyanobacteria, green plants. heterotrophic- (hetero-other , trophe -nutrition those organism which cannot synthesize their food from simple inorganic material and depend on other organism for food. Example- agrobacterium, xanthomonas , rhizobium, salmonella , deer, tiger. Kinds of nutrition -saprotrophic nutrition-food obtained from decaying organism. -parasitic nutrition- a nutrition in which organism obtain food from living organism. -holozoic nutrition-a nutrition in which organism intake solid food.
Nutrition in plants The process by which green plants make their own food from carbon dioxide and water by using sunlight in presence of chlorophyll is called photosynthesis. -the food prepared by leaves is present in form of glucose. The extra glucose is stored in form of starch. -the green plant convert solar energy into chemical energy.
