4. making request is an expression used when you want to ask for something or ask someone to do something. the expression request is used when we: 1. ask for something 2. ask for help doing something 3. receive something and 4. grant the request

5. Generally, making requests use the words can/could/would with the formula can/could + pronoun + verb

7. 1. Formal Could you help me? Could you…? Could/May I ask for….? Ex. may i ask for your little bit sandwiches?

8. 2. Informal Can you help me? Can I ask a favour? Can you…..? Ex. Can I have a piece of paper? can you play some music on my phone?
