Malnutrition during pregnancy can have serious consequences for both mother and the developing fetus .During pregnancy, women have higher nutritional needs to support fetal growth and development. However, many expecting mothers, especially in resource-poor settings, suffer from inadequate nutrition, leading to malnutrition. Introduction
Malnutrition affects a significant portion of expecting mothers worldwide. It is estimated that nearly 1 in 5 pregnant women globally suffer from some form of malnutrition. This can have severe consequences, including increased risk of maternal mortality, stunted fetal growth and poor pregnancy outcomes. Prevalence Of Malnutrition
Effects on Maternal health Increased Fatigue and Stress : Malnutrition can leave expecting mothers feeling exhausted and overwhelmed making it difficult to cope with the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy. Anemia and Weekend Immunity : Nutritional deficiencies particularly iron and folate can lead to anemia and compromise the mothers overall health ability to fight off infections.
Increased risk of Complications: Malnutrition increased the likelihood of developing pregnancy related complications such as gestational diabetes and preterm labor which can be life threatening.
Effects on Fetus Development : Maternal malnutrition during pregnancy can have profound impacts on developing fetus .Nutrient deficiencies can lead to impaired growth, organ development and neurological function putting the baby at high risk of congenital abnormalities and long term health issues.

Future prospect: Personalized nutrition counseling for expecting mothers. Nutrigenomics research for tailored nutrition recommendations. Mobile health technologies for remote nutrition monitoring. Global policies and initiatives addressing malnutrition in expecting mothers .
Conclusion Addressing malnutrition in expecting mothers is essential for improving maternal and child health outcomes. It requires a multifaceted approach that includes improving access to nutritious food, providing education and supplements, and ensuring comprehensive prenatal care. By tackling these issues, we can help ensure healthier pregnancies and better developmental outcomes for children .
