1. MAR Mandatory Additional Requirement An integral part of the undergraduate (UG) course curriculum of MAKAUT,WB (Formerly known as WBUT)

2. WHAT IS MAR This is launched for all round development of the student of the university . MAKAUT introduced it in 2018-19 to promote extracurricular activities among students .

3. It is expected that by the time MAKAUT ,WB students reach their Final Year, they would have developed themselves so well both through their studies in the respective technological field and through their active participation in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as also through online based learning activities that they would be well-prepared for contributing to building the INDIA and the world of their dreams .

4. WHY MAR IS IMPORTANT The main goal of MAR is to ensure skill development among the students as well as letting them have some 1st hand field experience of social works.

5. MAR ACTIVITY POINTS A minimum of 25 MAR activity points must be achieved in each academic year by every student for qualifying in MAR. It is according to MAKAUT notice. Without MAR points, the certificate of B.TECH will not be given by the university as per rule. Take this very seriously.

6. WHAT TO DO FOR MAR Participating in college program and seminar. Social developmental activities. Environmental protection like tree plantation , spread awareness. Enrolment in online courses. Actively participating in webinars. Undertaking Entrepreneurial activities. And so on

7. HOW TO GET MAR POINT Students will choose activities of their choice/interest from list given by university and earn points for MAR. Certificates or proofs have to be produced by the students for each activity.

8. You will submit those activity with certificate or proof to your department in college. Activities are being added and accordingly updated record are uploaded in time.

9. MIND THAT A minimum of 25 MAR activity points must be achieved in each academic year by every student for qualifying in MAR . Per year 25 marks point For 4 year B.TECH , TOTAL POINTS 100 (25 in each year of study ) For 3 year B.TECH, TOTAL PONTS 75 (25 in each year of study)

10. IMPORTANT NOTE - 1 In every semester , every student Is required to prepare a file containing documentary proofs of activities, done by him/her. This file will be duly verified and activity points will be assigned by the teachers as appointed, at the end of every semester.

11. IMPORTANT NOTE - 2 A student’s result of his/her Final Examinations will be withheld until he/she completes the minimum activity points by the end of his/her B. TECH Degree programme.

12. IMPORTANT NOTE - 3 One of the major activity within MAR is MOOCs , means, Massive Open Online Courses, scheme at MAKAUT , WB. In short, it is short term certificate courses from various online platform. Available courses are duration of 12 weeks,8 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 weeks.

13. Activity points are 1) 20 for one 12 weeks course 2) 16 for one 8 weeks course 3) 10 for one 4 weeks course 4) 5 for one 2 weeks course Online platform are NPTEL, SWAYAM , Spoken Tutorial , Coursera , edX , Udemy , Simpilearn etc.

15. IMPORTANT NOTE - 5 There Must be a single point of contact , SPOC, in each college, who will keep correspondences with the University on MAR activities and his/her name is to be informed to the University.
