Kshipra Location: located between thumb and fingers Structures related to kshipra marma : 1. First inter metacarpal space.
2. Tendons of abductor pollicis and deep portion of flexor pollicis brevis
3. Branches of radial artery and deep palmar arch,radialis indicis artery
4. Digital branches of median nerve & first dorsal inter osseous muscle. CLINICAL ANATOMY Pointing finger : Due to injury to median nerve. Causes loss of sensations over lateral 3 and half fingers Ape hand deformity
Talahridaya Location: Located in middle of palm Structures related to talahridaya marma :
1. palmar aponeurosis
2. Superficial palmar arch
3. Deep palmar arch& abductor pollicis longus 4. Flexor pollicis brevis & Interosseous muscles
5. Lumbrical Muscles CLINICAL ANATOMY Dupuytren’s contracture Laceration of palmar arterial arches
Kurcha Location: Located on both sides and proximal to kshipra Structures related to kurcha marma :
1. Carpo metacarpal and inter metacarpal ligaments
2. Tendons of extensor pollicis longus,extensor indicis and flexor carpi radialis brevis
3. Radial artery and it’s dorsal metacarpal branches
4. Interosseous muscles
5. Carpo metacarpal and inter metacarpal articulations CLINICAL ANATOMY Interosseous atrophy : usually caused by damage to ulnar nerve
Kurcha-shiras Location: Located distal and both sides of the manibandha sandhi. Structures related to kurchashiras marma :
1. Ulnar and radial collateral ligaments
2. Intercarpal and transverse carpal ligaments
3. Ulnar artery
4. Median nerve and superficial branches of ulnar nerve
5. Inter carpal articulations CLINICAL ANATOMY Anatomical snuff box.
The tenderness in the anatomical box indicates fracture of scaphoid bone.
Manibandha Location: located at junction of forearm and hand Structures related manibandha marma :
1. Wrist ( distal radio ulnar and radio carpal ) joint
2. Radio ulnar,radio carpal and radial and ulnar collateral ligaments CLINICAL ANATOMY Colles fracture: It is fracture at distal end of radius. Aspiration of the wrist joint
Indravasti Location: located in middle and anterior and anterior part of forearm. Structures related Indravasti marma :
1. Ulnar artery and median nerve
2. Radial artery with its palmar branches
3. Palmar interosseous branches of ulnar artery
4. Pronator teres 5. Flexor digitorum profundus & Flexor carpi radialis CLINICAL ANATOMY Posterior interosseous nerve syndrome Aberrant ulnar artery.
Kurpara Location: located at the elbow joints. Structures related to kurpara marma :
1. Elbow joint
2. Capsular ligament
3. Radial and ulnar collateral and annular ligaments CLINICAL ANATOMY Golfers elbow ( medial epicondylitis) Dislocation of elbow
Ani Location: Above and both sides of the kurpara . Structures related to Ani marma :
1. Tendons of biceps brachii 2. Brachial artery
