Aims Watch the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiREqzDsMP8&t=250s What are the kinds of quadrilaterals?

Aims Using the drawing below, identify and describe the figures represented by the letters. All the figures represented by the letters are called quadrilaterals. A quadrilateral has 4 sides and 4 angles.

Aims A quadrilateral is a polygon having four sides, four angles, and four vertices. Some properties are common to all quadrilaterals. These properties are: They have four vertices. They have four sides. The sum of all interior angles is 360°. They have two diagonals.

Aims A quadrilateral can be regular or irregular. A regular quadrilateral must have 4 equal sides, and 4 equal angles, and its diagonals must bisect each other. Square is the only quadrilateral that satisfies all these conditions.

Tasks and Thoughts (Activity 1) Group Activity Group 1: Identify the illustrations below by writing which kind of quadrilateral it represents.

Tasks and Thoughts Group 2: Describe each quadrilateral by matching Column A with Column B. Place the correct letter of your answer on the blank before each number. Column A 1. Square 2. Trapezoid 3. Parallelogram 4. Rectangle 5. Rhombus

Tasks and Thoughts Column B a. with one pair of opposite parallel sides b. all the sides and angles are equal; pairs of opposite sides are parallel to each other c. with two pairs of parallel sides; opposite sides are parallel and equal in length d. with all the four sides having equal lengths; opposite sides are parallel and opposite angles are equal e. with all the four angles of equal measure; the pairs of opposite sides are parallel and equal in length

Tasks and Thoughts Group 3: Answer the following questions. Draw a CIRCLE if your answer is YES and a DIAMOND if it is a NO on the blank provided before each number. 1. Is parallelogram a rectangle? 2. Is trapezoid a parallelogram? 3. Is square a rectangle? 4. Is rhombus a square? 5. Is rectangle a parallelogram?

Tasks and Thoughts Group 4: Encircle all the quadrilaterals that you can see inside the box. Identify by writing the name of the kinds of quadrilateral and describe them by giving the meaning.

Tasks and Thoughts (Activity 2) Carefully read the instructions for each question and complete the tasks accordingly. Use the given quadrilateral images to identify, label, and classify them. Make sure to identify opposite sides and angles as well.

Tasks and Thoughts Task/Question 2: Describe the number of sides and angles in each shape. _________________________________________ Task/Question 3: Discuss any special features or characteristics you notice. _________________________________________

Tasks and Thoughts Task/Question 4: Share with the Whole Group: After the group discussion, each group will share their findings with the entire class. This can be done through presentations or by discussing the shapes collectively.

Tasks and Thoughts (Activity 2) Identify whether each shape is a triangle or a quadrilateral. Explain your choice based on the properties of the shape. For each shape, learners need to identify whether it's a triangle or a quadrilateral. Circle the appropriate shape type. After identifying the shape, learners should explain why they chose that classification. They should consider the number of sides and angles.
