How did you determine the terms in the sequence?

Arithmetic Sequence A sequence whose consecutive terms have a common difference is an arithmetic sequence . The sequence a 1 , a 2 , a 3 , …, a n is arithmetic if there is a number d such that: a 2 – a 1 = d , a 3 – a 2 = d , a 4 – a 3 = d . d is called the common difference .

2, 5, 8, 11, 14, … Is this an arithmetic sequence? 3 3 3 3 d = 3 YES

-1, -4, -7, -11, -14, … What about this? -3 -3 -4 -3 There is no common difference. NOT ARITHMETIC
