MELCHECEDIC C. BARBA TEACHER I TINOPAN HIGH SCHOOL RAPU-RAPU, ALBAY

c. RA 10533 This RA 10533 known as the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, has expanded the years of schooling in basic education from 10 years to 12 years. In school year 2018-2019, an additional 2 years representing Grades 11-12 will be introduced in the basic education system through senior high school.

d. DepEd Order (No. 21, s. 2019) The context of this guidelines is to provide policy on comprehensive explanation on k-12 Basic Education Program and its Components across all key stages. It is also integrates many existing policies and guidelines on K to 12.

a. RA 10157 This RA provides that the curriculum is designed to cater to the needs of the learners with special needs or children who are gifted, those with disabilities, and other diverse learners by adopting services in addition to the standards.

c. They are individuals who pursue their careers for personal development to work abroad After referring to DO_s2019_021, the Enhance Basic Education Program: K to 12 section 18 indicated the characteristics in letters a, b, and d, not stated the letter c. c. 4 According to DO_s2019_021, k to 12 Curriculum has 4 key stages The K to 12 Program covers 13 years of Basic education with the following key stages: Key stage 1 – Kindergarten to Grade 3 Key stage 2 – Grade 4 – 6 Key stages 3 – Grade 7-10 (junior high school) Key stage 4- Grade 11-12 (Senior High School)

b. 5 Kindergarten Education is the first stage of compulsory and mandatory formal education which consist of one year of preparatory education for children at least five years old as a prerequisite for Grade 1 c. Core Subjects, Applied Track, Specialized Subjects For this reason, all SHS learners, regardless of track, are required to take 15 core subjects (e.g. Statistics and Probability) to ensure that they equipped with competencies required for specialization studies in their chosen SHS tracks. In Addition, learners are expected to take 16 additional subjects in the applied track and in specialized areas within their chosen specialization

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Questions Answers Answers Is the K to 12 a product of collaboration with other agencies Yes K to 12 Curriculum was collaborated with the following agencies: Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and academe and industry partners. Is the shift from the Basic Education Curriculum to K to 12 Program conceptualized by DepEd alone? Yes Educators are involved and responsible in conceptualizing the Basic Education Curriculum K to 12 program Was Kindergarten Education mandatory before the K to 12 Program? Yes Kindergarten Education is the first stage of compulsory and mandatory formal education which consist of one year of preparatory education for children at least five years old as a prerequisite for Grade 1 Is Republic Act No. 10533 the basis for the additional two years of Senior High School (SHS)? Yes Section 6. This RA 10533 known as the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, has expanded the years of schooling in basic education from 10 years to 12 years. In school year 2018-2019, an additional 2 years representing Grades 11-12 will be introduced in the basic education system through senior high school. Does the K to 12 Program give importance to the preparation of graduates on ASEAN Integration? Yes It concentrates on developing regional identity, raising quality of life, and promoting Southeast Asian studies. The K to 12 program and ASEAN integration addresses the importance to prepare K-12 graduates provide bigger chance to become globally competitive.

The different issues addressed by the legal basses of the K-12 Curriculum are the lack of resources for implementation, teachers do not find themselves equipped to teach students because they believe they need more training and additional two years of basic education known as the senior high school have had a negative impact on the lower economic status of parents. Among these issues, what greatly affects me as a teacher is the lack of resources like computers. Our school has no access to the internet, that’s why even though we want the learners to be equipped with the 21 st – Century skills we cannot provide them because of this dilemma. I think the top 3 factors that are given emphasis by the different k to 12 laws and orders are teachers ad student, implementation of curriculum, and school environment because they are the center of the education process, teachers also need to be equipped and skilled to achieve the rationale of this educational reform.

The Philippines provide educational services to people with disabilities on the Constitutional Inclusion of Children with disabilities. It aims at the holistic development of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. Applicability and appropriateness of a curriculum to the needs, interests, aspiration and expectation of learners and society in general. Building Proficiency Systems identifies the fundamental components of a proficiency-based learning system for the schools and districts. Constitutional mandate that the state protects and promotes the right of all citizens to accessible quality education at all levels and provides adult citizens, people with disabilities and out-of-school youth with training in civics Early Childhood care and education (ECCE) is more than preparation for primary school. A good curriculum is never a one-and-one initiative. Revisiting it regularly allows you to not only review how things are going, but also make room for new topics that are relevant tody The focus of proficiency-based learning is on students demonstration of desired learning outcomes. Students gain the skills, abilities, and knowledge required in an area of study, along with those necessary to be successful in college, career and civic life.

As a Teacher, we have to be sensitive to the needs of our learners, and one of these is the language barrier. If I have a learner who can speak only his/her mother tongue, I will have her/him a pair buddy that she can be with, or a classmate that might help his/her to communicate with others. Then gradually encourage his/her to participate into group activities that involve communications and also use supplemental lectures and instructions with visual aids. I can also reinforce his/her to communicate and model the correct form of communication when an opportunity arises. There are several methods in which the teacher might assist the student in excelling mathematics. The teacher should teach the students to be confident when answering math problems. Another thing the teacher should do is encourage students to ask questions and create space for curiosity. Another way to assist the learner to be good at mathematics is to provide authentic issues that improve students desire to interact with math. Teaching students hoe to apply math in real-world problems increases their enthusiasm and comprehension.

The teacher can introduced new activities that are connected to the previous competencies or conduct a review on the latter then another activities for the new lessons. he/she can do both written or performance on these activities. The Teacher should provide varied activities that are suitable to the aged and understanding of his/her learners. The teacher can provide group tasks wherein they can collaborate with each other.

The K-12 graduates should have higher earning potential as they will be more competent and skilled. K-12 program implementation aimed at creating more skilled students with basic skills for lifelong learning and employment The 21 st century skills should be acquired by learners are they should learn to think critically, learn to collaborate, enhance their creativity and innovation skills, and equipped them with technology skills and digital literacy skills. Filipino graduates will become more prepared to compete in the global economy The is no difference when it comes to teaching integrative and seamless learning. The learning areas taught are more on practical application of what have they learned. Provide them trainings about the latest technology so that they are capable to cope up with the 21 st century global competencies

Asking and Telling sentence Distinguish telling sentence from asking sentences. SLM, LRMDS portal, Youtube Communication and focus skills

Inquiry-Based To know the difference between asking and telling sentences Constructivism Theory Conduct pair up, dialogue activities, paper and pencil test

I am happy because I know that I am familiar with doing the lesson guide and there are so many play-based activities that come to my mind that I may also use in other activities In making the Learning Plan Guide the teacher should consider the competencies or the objectives because if you achieved this you execute your lesson very well, also what subject to be taught, what strategies to be used, and what skills should be developed for learners and etc.

The insight that I gained from this activity is that the teacher should design appropriate learning activities and develop strategies to obtain feedback on student learning. Having a carefully constructed lesson plan allows to enter the classroom with more confidence and maximize your chance of having a meaningful learning experience with your students. You therefore need to focus your preparation on the process and the learning outcome.

Provide the learner written assessment instead of doing actual activities in P.E and TLE to insure his health safety The teacher should provide activities based on the understanding of the learner. Give intensive remedial instruction to help the learner Teacher should provide alternative assessment to student who have medical conditions. Teacher should also help learners with learning disability to achieve learning goals

The similarities are they are both experiential and situated learning. The difference between the two subjects is the Araling Panlipunan aims to develop the students literacy, patriotism and effective participation as a citizen of the country while the mathematics aims to achieve the twin goals of developing students, numeracy, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Yes, all subjects follow the Spiral Progression Approach

Standard and Competence-based Shows the learners expected level of proficiency “Benchmarked of knowledge and skills” as defined in DO 31 s. 2012 Benchmarks of transfer of learning as defined in DO 31 s. 2012 Key stage refers to stages in the k-12 program reflecting distinct developmental milestone Shows the degree or quality of proficiency that the learners is able to demonstrate in each grade level How can the teacher achieve all the competencies written in the curriculum? How should teachers implement this learning standards? What is the importance of content standards? What kind of performance I’m going to give to my students? And how can I assist it? What particular level I’m going to prepare for my activity sheet? What kind of activity I’m going to give based on their Grade Level? I learned that GC is important to teachers, it guides the teacher in the delivery of the lesson. Make the standards fit into the students interest – Focus on the skills and language learning. The topic of the lesson that were going to tackle or discuss. I learned to give simple yet meaningful to the pupils performance Different stages have different ability to acquire knowledge. Different stages have different ability to acquire knowledge.

c. “ Makahubog ng mamayang mapanuri , mapgnilay , mapanagutan , produktibo , makakalikasan , makabansa , at makatao na may Pambansa at pandaigdigang pananaw at pagpapahalaga sa mga usapin sa lipunan , sa nakaraan , kasalukuyan , at hinaharap .” The objectives of teaching k-12 ARALING PANLIPUNAN is to develop students understanding in primary knowledge aspects. There are no differences between these grade levels because they have the same key stage standards. They have the same featured key reforms like restructured learning areas stronger integration of competencies and values across learning areas and greater emphasis on the learning process and integrative modes of teaching. .

b. The approaches in Araling Panlipunan should be; constructivist, collaborative, and contextual. Through approaches in araling panlipunan , students develop their understanding. They will learn about their values in different time and condition. They also develop the perspective of their environment and then process of its advancement. a. Content standard answers the question: “What do the learners need to learn?” while the performance standard answers the question: “What do the learners need to do to demonstrate their knowledge?” Content standard are broad statement explaining what students should know, care and be able to do in each level of learning. Performance standard are used to evaluate what specific, measurable evidence is acceptable in determining whether content standards have been met. To teach the students to learn to appreciate the different diversity of Filipino cultures Based in are standard for AP 4 you will preparing your students to become a better citizens in their community ang teaching how to learn to appreciate diversity of culture.

Yes, the concept is new to me. The guiding principles or philosophy that are reflected in my teaching strategies is being a constructivist teacher. To ensure opportunities for students to master core subject areas and pursue well-rounded learning such as: Reading Literacy Basic Math (Solving and Counting )

Content standards helps, “What do learners want to know, be able to do, and understand?” while the performance standards “How do we want them to use their learning or understanding?” This helps me in my lesson planning because they help me meet my objectives for the lesson, The c ontent standard should met in a short period of time and the performance standard are expected to be attained in an longer period of time.

According to its guidelines, the code is part of the department’s response to develop resilient education systems, especially during emergencies and will enable DepEd to focus instruction on the “most essential and indispensable” competencies also serve as guide to the teacher on how many days they will teach the said learning competency or learning objective. Learning Code helps the teacher in budgeting the learning competencies and planning the lesson for a subject through letters and numbers that correspond to the subject and grade level, abbreviation of the quarter title, quarter number, number of weeks and its order and competency number.

YES YES YES YES YES One of my strength is using ICT in my class, I can use/apply different application such as classpoint , kahoot or any interactive platform for learning materials. I am also open for collaboration with my colleagues and updated in school activities. As a Teacher we need to practice public speaking with our colleagues, I need improvement on that matter, I’m a bit nervous when I am appointed to become an emcee or host. I need to improve and practice my speaking and boost confidence.

When Teacher Rowel identifies that the result of the review is very low, he should not have continued to teach the new lesson. He should have focus on the competency that the learners did not meet The students are actively participating in the class discussion because they find the online games exciting. Teacher Rowel should identify what competency did his pupils did not meet and provide additional activities for the learners. Mastery of the lesson is important before proceeding with the new lesson. The use of ICT promotes learning among learners. It provides a different learning opportunity for them to showcase their knowledge and skills.
