Fetal Growth Development ( 14 Weeks to 24 weeks)

14 Weeks: The fetus may suck its thumb. Fine hair (lanugo) starts to cover the body. The spleen begins producing red blood cells. The fetus can swallow and the kidneys can produce urine.  15 Weeks: The fetus begins to stretch, yawn, and make facial movements. The skeleton continues to ossify. Toenails start to develop. The fetus limbs are becoming more organized in their movements. 

16 Weeks: The fetus's skin is transparent, and veins can be seen through it.  Limb movements are more coordinated.  The fetus may be about 5.5 inches long and weigh around 7 ounces.  17 Weeks: Toenails are fully formed. The fetus becomes more active, and the mother may start to feel hiccups.  18 Weeks : Hearing develops, The fetus’s ears stand out on the head, The fetus might start to hear sounds, and The digestive system is working. 

19 Weeks : Kicks and movements become stronger and more noticeable. The fetus learns to suck, which is crucial for feeding after birth. The fetus may suck its thumb.  20 Weeks : Nails grow to the ends of the fingers. The fetus is around 10 inches long and weighs about 1 pound.  21 Weeks: The fetus can taste sugar and The baby is developing all five senses .  22 Weeks : The fetus may be playing with its hands and feet. 

23 Weeks : The fetus’s eyes are developing and may start to open .  24 Weeks : The fetus is growing real hair. The fetus 's movements can be felt more distinctly by the mother.  The fetus is around 33 cm in length. The fused eyelids separate into upper and lower lids, allowing the fetus to open and shut its eyes. The skin is covered in fine hair (lanugo) and protected by a layer of waxy secretion (vernix). The fetus makes breathing movements with its lungs .
