4. Personal Insights I learned that although I know quite a bit about navigating the digital world, there are still things I need to learn. With this insight about my own shortcomings, I plan to approach people I meet with an open mind to learning and teaching. Community Application

5. Competency Improvements The competency I believe I improved the most on is Communication. I realize now that at the beginning of my co-op, I played a more passive role in communicating, and would wait for lines of communication to be started by others. Through experiencing the struggles that can come from not initiating communication, I learned that being more assertive with my own communicating is a benefit to everyone on the project. Career Benefits Improving this competency will greatly benefit me in a future career, because I will begin any new position ready to communicate. This immediate steady flow of communication will benefit any new position I am in.

6. Personal Growth Experience A personal experience that pushed me past my comfort zone was giving a 10-minute presentation to our client. I was not expecting to be the one to speak during the presentation, but I ended up being the one to do it. What I learned about myself was that even though I was not expecting to present, I was still prepared enough to give the presentation. Giving the presentation meant I needed to have a full understanding of the scope of our work, and even though the presentation was surprisingly put upon me, I was able to get through it because of my due diligence.

7. Future Competency Development The two competencies I wish to further develop are: Emotional Intelligence Leadership To develop further emotional intelligence, I need to learn to have a better awareness of my own emotions, and whether they are appropriate to the situation. To further develop my leadership, I need to take a stronger stance on what I believe must be done in a situation. Only once I assert my opinions strongly and convincingly, will I be viewed as a viable leader.
