EMOTIONAL BEHAVIORAL DISORDER
Case Analysis
Part I- Case Analysis
. Read the scenario below and answer the guide questions.
• Scenario:
• Anna, a 10-year-old student, has been frequently disrupting class by shouting, using
offensive language, and leaving her seat without permission. At home, her parents
report that she often argues, refuses to follow rules, and has been caught stealing from
her siblings. Her teacher also noticed that Anna seems anxious and withdrawn when
criticized, and sometimes cries without clear reasons.
Answer:
Possible EBD Anna may be showing is:
-Anna could be showing signs of Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) or
Conduct Disorder, because Anna shows some behavior like frequent arguing,
breaking rules, and also stealing.
Anna shows three symptoms/behaviors that support my answers for her disorder
-First, Anna argues a lot and refuses to follow rules at home.
-Second, she disrupts class by shouting and leaving her seat without
permission.
-And lastly, Anna was caught stealing from her siblings.
INTERVENTIONS:
School-based: The teacher can set clear rules and consistent consequences,
and also give positive reinforcement when Anna behaves well.
Family-based: Anna’s Parents can attend counseling with Anna to learn better
ways of handling her own behavior and improving communication at home.

Part ll – Reflection
In my own words, It is important for the teacher to understand the cultural and
biological, family, and also school factors because these can affect how a child
behaves. Some kids may act out because of problems at home, health issues, or even
how they are treated in school. If teachers understand the reasons behind the student’s
behavior, they can respond with more patience and give the right support. This can help
children improve both in their behavior and learning.
Part III – Creative Activity
