Ear drops are typically prepared by dissolving drugs in a suitable solvent and then using a dropper to place them in the ear. The solvent can be glycerin, propylene glycol, alcohol, water, or a mixture of alcohol and water.  EAR DROPS Prof. (Dr.) Ummesh Kumar Sharma, Dean, Sharda School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, Agra

Some common ingredients in ear drops include: 1. Sodium bicarbonate : Used to soften ear wax    2. Glycerin : Used as a preservative and lubricant, and to increase viscosity    3. Carbamide peroxide : Has anti-infective properties and contributes to a mechanical "bubbling" action that breaks up ear wax    4. Hydrogen peroxide : Has anti-infective properties and contributes to a mechanical "bubbling" action that breaks up ear wax    5. Olive oil : A softening agent that keeps the formulation in the ear longer . Prof. (Dr.) Ummesh Kumar Sharma, Dean, Sharda School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, Agra

Ear drops can be used to treat a variety of ear conditions, including: Inner ear infection (otitis media) Outer ear infection, or swimmer's ear (otitis externa) Ear pain Earwax blockage Itchy ears Ear drainage Ear fullness  Prof. (Dr.) Ummesh Kumar Sharma, Dean, Sharda School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, Agra

Add the measured quantity of glycerol to the solution and stir it to mix it well, then transfer the solution to the measuring cylinder and make up the volume up to 100 ml with purified water. Store the prepared ear drop in a storage bottle. Prof. (Dr.) Ummesh Kumar Sharma, Dean, Sharda School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, Agra
