9. Gajayuyrveda Gajaayurveda / Hastyayurveda is the science of medicine for elephants. The originator of Hastyurveda is Palakayya Muni. Two compositions: 1. Hustyayurvada published from Anandashram Poona (1894). 2. Gajashastram published from Tanjore 1958. Palakapya's father's name was Samagayan Rishi. Palakapya was appointed for the arrangement of elephants, disease treatment, healthy diet, and monastery for King Rompad , who was the king of Angadesh . Hasryaywrveda is an important text on elephant lore which originated in India. A copy of which ( Hastanarveda ) is available in the Raja Serfoji Saraswathi Mahal Library of Thanjavur in South India.

Hastyayurveda Samhita ( Granth ) has a total of four sections in which there are 160 chapters, the origin of elephants, best diet, disorders arising in clephants , causes of disorders, symptoms, nature of disease, treatment of disease method of preparation and use, nature of elephants, unfavourable environment for elephants, eic . Instructions are mentioned. The scripture which gives a detailed description of the anatomy, physiology, etc. of elephants is Hastyyurveda . Uttararogasthana - Uttararogasthana is the last part, which explains the topics like snehapana , snehapanavidhikathana , annapanakathana , snehapana - kthana , Shalavidhana , must various seasons, seasonal food items and other treatments etc.
