What do I want the students to learn? How will students learn it? How will I know if the students have learnt it? WHY? Planning

Why is it important and will they think so? What learning strategies shall I facilitate? Why is this the best way to do it? Do I have an alternative plan if this doesn’t go well? In what ways have the students been actively engaged? How will the students demonstrate what they have learnt? WHY? Planning

Lesson Plan Outline Context Key ideas (process & conceptual) (evaluate from backwards mapping) Learning Intentions (less is more – are they content or skills or both) Prior knowledge ( diagnostic test) Outcomes reviewed Preparation (be a good scout….Be prepared) Procedure Introduction Student activities (this about it from what student is doing) Closure Material management Evaluation Learning outcomes (what content and skills are mastered here) Teacher performance (how did I do?)
