STATEMENT OF THE RESEARCH PROBLEM “ A Quasi Experimental Study To Assess The Effect of Computer Assisted Structured Teaching on Knowledge of Staff Nurses Regarding The Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour to Improve Maternal and Foetal Outcome among Primi Parturient Mothers in Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj .)”
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY The objective of the Research are- To assess the knowledge regarding t he Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour among staff Nurses of both groups before the implementation of Computer assisted structured Teaching Programme . To assess the knowledge regarding t he Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour among staff Nurses of Experimental group after the implementation of Computer assisted structured Teaching Programme . To assess the knowledge regarding t he Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour among staff Nurses of control group without the implementation of Computer assisted structured Teaching Programme . To assess the impact of Computer assisted structured Teaching Programme on knowledge regarding t he Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour . To find out the association between pre-test knowledge score regarding t he Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour among staff Nurses with their selected socio-demographic variables.
HYPOTHESIS At 0.05 level of significance- H 01 : There is no significant difference between pre and posttest knowledge score among staff nurses Regarding The Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour in Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.) H 1 : There is a significant difference between pre and posttest knowledge score among staff nurses Regarding The Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour in Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.) H 02 : There is no significant association between pre-test knowledge score among staff nurses with selected socio-demographic variables. H 2 : There is a significant relation between pre-test knowledge score among staff nurses with selected socio-demographic variables.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY RESEARCH APPROACH In view of the nature of the problem selected for the study and the goals to be achieved, quantitative evaluative approach adopted. Quantitative evaluative approach helps to assists with making sense of the impact of independent variable on the dependent variable. This study includes manipulation, control and no randomization. This approach is considered by the investigator as the most suitable one for this study. RESEARCH DESIGN A quasi-experimental research design with pre and post-test as well as control group was used to assess Knowledge of Staff Nurses Regarding The Non–Pharmacological Interventions During First Stage of Labour to Improve Maternal and Foetal Outcome among Primi Parturient Mothers in Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj .)”
SETTING OF THE STUDY The present study was conducted at Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.) ” The reason for selecting this area is investigator’s convenience, feasibility, proximity and expected co-operation from authorities in getting permission for conduct the study.
P OPULATION The target population is the group of population that the researcher aims to and to whom the study findings will be generalized. In this study the target population comprises of all the staff Nurses of Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.) The accessible population of this study is staff Nurses of Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.) who are take interest to participate in the research study and accessible at the time of study.
SAMPLE, SAMPLE SIZE AND SAMPLING TECHNIQUE SAMPLE Sample may defined as representative unit of a target population, which is to be worked upon by researches during study. In the present study, staff Nurses of Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.) were selected to participate in this study. SAMPLE SIZE The sample size of the study comprised of 60 staff Nurses of Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.) SAMPLING TECHNIQUE The researcher selected the subjects purposively for both control and experimental group from selected Selected Hospitals at Kota (Raj.)
