QUESTIONS WORDS In today’s class, you will learn more about questions words, this are particles that we use in questions to request information about a place, person, object, etc. We use these particles depending on whether we want to ask about people, things, places, times, reasons, ways, quantity or age.
WHAT ARE THE QUESTION WORDS? WHO ? ¿ Quién? WHAT ? ¿Qué? ¿ Cuál? WHEN ? ¿ Cuándo? WHERE? ¿Dónde? HOW ? ¿ Cómo? WHY ? ¿Por qué? WHOSE ? ¿De quién? WHICH ? ¿Cuál? ¿Qué? HOW ARE QUESTIONS WORDS USED? Question words are placed at the beginning of the sentence and follow the following structures When the main verb is the verb to be: QW + to be + subject + (complement ) When the main verb is not the verb to be: QW + auxiliary + subject + verb + (complement) Both the verb to be in the first case and the auxiliary verb in the second case will correspond to the verb tense being used (to be: am, is, was...) (auxiliary: do, did, will ...) Las question words se colocan al principio de la oración y siguen las siguientes estructuras Cuando el verbo principal es el verbo to be: QW + to be + sujeto + (complemento ) Cuando el verbo principal no es el verbo to be: QW + auxiliar + sujeto + verbo + ( complemento) Tanto el verbo to be en el primer caso como el verbo auxiliar en el segundo caso corresponden al tiempo verbal que se utiliza (ser: soy, es, era...) (auxiliar: hacer, hizo, voluntad ...) ¿CÓMO SE UTILIZAN LAS QUESTION WORDS?
